I am from Metrowest. Lowell isn’t all that far. Middle Metro-West like Framingham is better. I might be able to do it.
I just said Metrowest to not scare away people who think I meant Boston the city, not Boston = anywhere east of Worcester. Also, I know there are a couple of dopers from up near me, but I for one am not opposed to going somewhere that’s within an hour, and I’ll drag my roommate (laurelann ) if she isn’t working.

I’d be interested. The closer we stay to the north half of 128 the more likely I’d actually be able to make it.

Heh. I’ve only lived here for about five years. I actually internalized 128 from getting traffic reports for the ride home. 
The thing I still have a hard time with is frappe; it’s a milkshake or a malted milkshake to me.
I have only lived in the Boston area for 8 years and I make a special point to confuse and piss people off about this.
Me: “Get off going North on I-95”
Them: “You mean 128?”
Me:" I don’t know what YOU call it, just take 95 North."
Them: “I don’t know you are talking about, I just know 128 and I think that goes in the same direction.”
Me: “Well, you can probably take that too. It will probably end up being about the same distance.”
I like the part where’s it’s 128 South and I-93 North, at the same time!

That still makes me shake my head in baffled amusement, even though I lived here all my life. I understand the concept now, whereas I didn’t when I was a youngster, but it’s still such an f’ed-up, Bostonian way of doing things.
