Brady! Brady! Brady!

a) What type of car does Mr. Brady drive?
b) What type of station wagon does Mrs. Brady drive?

According to the Bradyworld FAQ, Carol drove either a '70 or '71 Plymouth Satellite wagon depending on the season while Mike got a new car almost every season: 1968 Dodge Polara convertible in the pilot; a 1969 Plymouth Fury III in years one and two; a 1971 Plymouth Barracuda convertible in year three; a 1972 Plymouth Barracuda convertible in year four (actually, a modified 1971 model), and a 1973 Chevrolet Caprice convertible in year five.
God, I’m such a Brady geek.

Faster than the speed of light?

So which was the car Greg knocked over the egg with after being injured in a surfing accident while trying to rinse out the orange hair dye?

Mr. Matthew Harrison Brady didn’t drive. He walked to the courthouse, to the cheers of the local townsfolk.

Next question.

No, that was Jan who knocked over the egg. She wasn’t wearing her glasses, remember?

You know Mom always says, “Don’t play ball in the house”

By the way, why did the girls take on the last name Brady? Shouldn’t it have been whatever Carol’s first husband’s last name was?

He legally adopted them. Although the show was originally pitched as reflecting the trials and tribulations of step-families, in the end they chickened out of that angle and went for straight household sitcom. Having the girls retain their birthnames would have been “too controversial”.

I’ve gotta beat an inch and a half.

Even if it was Tiger’s fault.

I’m not a Bradyite- can you explain the reference?

Greg and Marcia had a feud over who was the better driver, so the Brady family set up an obstacle course; the last task being to come as close to a traffic cone as possible without hitting it. Marcia stopped an inch and a half away, thus Greg had to beat that to win.

He hit the cone, and the egg on top fell over. Marcia won.

That, and they would have had to rename the show otherwise.

My favorite was when Carol implied that Greg got his musical ability from her side of the family :dubious:

(“How was the show?” “It was great. We really got it together and wailed and bent the gig out of shape!”)

Now, everone in here, just remember not to be a stinker.

AH! Can I use such language in the Cafe threads?

I’m a bit ashamed to admit this, but I watched the Brady Marathon on TV Land last night, which meant I caught the hair tonic/“Cousin Oliver” episode and the ridiculous trip to King’s Island episode. On the plus side, I saw all three parts of the Hawaii episode, which, ironically, also contained a character named Oliver.

Carol’s first husband’s last name was Martin. I’d never seen the first episode–“The Honeymoon”–in its entirety before.

Heck, I was amused by watching the former cast members turn on each other during their appearance on The Weakest Link. Cousin Oliver got voted off first, to no-one’s surprise, but the audience really gasped when Florence Henderson got booted.

Jan crashed into a family portrait of the kids, IIRC, hidden in the garage for their parents’ anniversary. As you will recall, in the original picture, she didn’t have glasses, but in the re-take… Jan was wearing her glasses.

Does anyone recall?
a) What Greg’s manager in “Adios, Johnny Bravo” the same “groovy, far-out daddy” who put the Bradies in a TV commercial about Safe vs. Best laundry soap?

b) Was “Alfie”, the department store salesmen with the silevr platter, the same man who was the absent-minded photographer when the kids got a group photo taken (which Jan crashed into with her bicycle when she refused to wear her glasses…)

I was amused in the honeymoon pilot episode when Mike Brady admitted to being nervous, and Carol suggested he take a tranquilizer. When he said he’d already taken one but was still nervous, she suggested he take another. That seemed so different from what a TV show today would show.
