Brasil 2014

Brave call at any rate by the linesman.

Such an ugly match, especially this half.

While I expect Brazil to come back, at this time Chile look better…

No flow at all this half. If they can get it back, they will win. Chile are fighting hard, albeit not beautiful football.

It’s got to be a crushing feeling, knowing your country has spent $15-20 billion dollars on an event and be in danger of crashing out in the round of 16.

Frankly Chile just looks like they’re working harder. The closer we get to 90’, the more Brazil will seize up.

Just play! Stop falling down!

Brazil just woke up. Just a matter of time now.

Goes for both sides!

Definitely.

Brazil now look a bit more dangerous.

If nothing else, the Brazilians have the best names (does anyone else put nicknames on their shirts?).

I don’t think so. I think Chicharito’s Mexico jersey has “Hernandez” on it.

“J. Hernandez.”

I agree it can often be a fine line between allowing the game to flow and allowing a free for all that can also ruin a game. I just think there have been too many instances of games and tournaments being spoilt by over officious refereeing. The game used to be much tougher than it is now. Its becoming a game for nancy boys. It also means too many good players get suspended for the all important latter games imo. Many of these players having been suspended for doing little wrong.

Indeed, I have really enjoyed how Webb has refereed this game, although I am not as convinced that it was a handball as others here are. I know that if I was Brazilian I’d be very pissed off.

And from defending them … whoever that was that went studs up against the keeper should be off the field, IMHO.

The color commentator on the ABC/ESPN feed thinks it was a great challenge. A shoulder-high studs out challenge on the keeper. Oh, boy. Must have been a forward in his playing life.

James Rodriquez (Colombia) just has “James” on his shirt. I think Memphis Depay (Holland) also just has ‘Memphis’. I’m sure there are more.

Chile looks really tired.

Was that one really a foul?
