I was confused by both the replay and the announcing on that. No idea.
I’m referring (since they called so many in the game) to the one where the Chilean player ended up on the grass after hitting the Brazilian’s back. Brazilian player had back turned to the other player, no way to know the other player was there.
I thought of another: Ivory Coast’s Gervinho. But I do think there’s a difference between going by a first name or a diminutive and going by “Hulk.”
The color commentator claimed he was spying where the player was coming and set up there on purpose. They didn’t show the whole replay, so it was impossible to see.
Whoever said Brazilians are being actors has not been paying attention to Chile today.
Both of these things can be true, you know.
Diaz has been aiming for the stands all day.
Yea, I’m not denying one part. I get a bit defensive when they accuse all acting on one team and don’t look at the other one.
This has been some game. If Brazil loses, there’s going to be a lot of unhappy fans in that stadium . . .
Ah, okay. I agree there have been a lot of amateur-quality theatrics today.
I also just think the Chilean players aren’t that fit. Even in the group games they seemed to struggle the last 15 minutes.
So close to a goal! It hit the crossbar . . .
ETA: Aaaand extra time’s over. Time for some drama! grabs popcorn
Shootouts it is… Sigh
Penalties. Yikes. Brazil look a bit fresher, but still, the pressure.
I’m not certain these guys have enough leg left for penalty shots.
Penalties… I never think of Brazil as good on those, but I hope they work today.
I genuinely detest penalty shoot outs. I feel for whoever it is that goes out.
I’m pulling for Chile, but at the same time, I don’t want to see Brazil go.
Pity that last Chilean strike wasn’t on target.
Brazil gets their first one - nice shot!
