First a couple of notes:
I am putting this in the Pit because I am sure that it would eventually end up here anyway.
I will not be providing cites because I am not looking to hang anyone else.

I will be taking a break from the Dope (I will be reading and I will probably post from time to time unless I get Banned for this post, but as of this moment there ain’t no way that I will renew again).
This MB has been getting too bizarre for me lately with the seemingly arbitrary enforcement of “the Rules” (second from the left in that little blue bar near the top of the screen) and the seemingly random “new, improved Rules” that get made up.
Luckily for the rest of you these “new, improved Rules” only seem to affect folks named Unclviny (unless you are after me on the “selective enforcement” list).

It’s been real.

Ya know it took me until this OP to recognize how to pronounce unclviny. I kept trying to make something of it with a soft “c.” :smiley:

I’d be interested to see an example or two of this “arbitrary enforcement” of the rules. I’m not doubting, but i’d still like the chance to judge for myself.

Well, if one gets too serious about what goes on around here, it makes sense to take a break and decompress a bit.

If the linked thread on tailgating is the one that caused all the brouhaha, though, I don’t see any selective enforcement. Near as I can tell, referring to posters as ‘idiots’ and ‘fucking stupid’ in MPSIMS pretty much guarantees a smackdown. And as smackdowns go, it seemed a fairly mild one; SkipMagic even said ‘please’, fer cryin’ out loud.

Anyway, stick around, why doncha. No one wants to lose a solid go-to guy on projectile weapons and cafe racers.

Taking a break is sometimes a good thing. I had myself suspended for a month a while ago to try to regain some sense of perspective.
