Only when I was hospitalized. Otherwise, I have enough problem not making a mess normally.
I haven’t eaten breakfast more than a handful of times since I was 14–I am so not a morning person and I can’t handle eating anything solid before I’ve been up 1.5-2 hours. It makes me feel nauseous and like I’ve swallowed a brick. Juice is about as much as I want to deal with. I dread the rare occasions where I’m forced to pretend to eat breakfast while really trying to ingest as little as possible (such as being an overnight guest at some extended family’s house and trying not to be rude). So no, I wouldn’t want breakfast in bed.
Naah, two slices of toast balanced against each other like a lean-to…
I’ve brought it to my daughters numerous times and been served myself, especially by my younger daughter, numerous times.
When it’s me to them, I’ve done everything from fresh-squeezed orange juice and pancakes / bacon down to a cinnamon roll or other breakfast pastry and juice. I’ve done trays and non-trays. Now that they’re older, they prefer the simple roll and juice, placed next to their bed, with a gentle touch to wake them.
My younger daughter went through a phase when she was around 7 and 8 when she loved to make me breakfast in bed. It typically consisted of boughten orange juice or milk to drink and oatmeal or cinnamon toast to eat. She brought it on a tray and never spilled a thing on the bedclothes, nor did I. I loved it. It’s one of my happiest mom memories from that time.
I’ve only had it while in hospital, which totally doesn’t count.
I have had breakfast served to me on a tray after my c-section. My husband did a damned good job of it, too… but I’d made my way to the couch by the time it was ready, so it wasn’t breakfast in bed.
I’d absolutely love to have breakfast served to me more often. Or any meal.
Everything old on the Dope is new again and vice versa. I addressed this topic here, but it didn’t get as much play as this thread.
I think my son brought me breakfast in bed a couple of times when he was little, but only one time stands out. (Except for half raw bacon added to scrambled eggs - blech!)
I was sick with cramps or a headache or something. He was about 6, I think. I asked him to fix me a bowl of Raisin Bran, with one “thingie” of sugar. I meant spoonful, he added a scoop of sugar with the 1/4 cup measure in the canister.
I got out of bed.
I’m never hungry when I first get up, but coffee would be nice, after I’ve used the facilities.
So, both breakfast and lunch on a single plate. Got it. (That’s a lot of food.)
There are only a couple of things I like to do in bed, and neither one of them is eat. Plus I am not big on breakfast anyway and have to have a cup of coffee just to decide what, if anything, I am going to eat.
The idea of having to vacuum crumbs out of my bed is really off-putting. No one has ever served me breakfast in bed, and I hope they continue not doing it.
Since I have a cold, my husband brought me breakfast in bed this morning…
My husband is a nice guy
But having a doggie shedding shedding fur on the bed to lick up popcorn crumbs goes.
Got it!
So, no oral sex for you?
I can’t imagine eating breakfast in bed.
