Breath of the Wild 2 - 2022 [Now titled "Tears of the Kingdom"]

Zoanite serves two purposes.

  1. You can use it for autobuild to build any machine you like even if you don’t have the parts.

  2. You can cash it in for crystalized charges, which add to your battery charges so you have more batteries.

Ah, thanks Mahaloth.

Fuse fuse fuse. Even a crappy sword fused with a high-level monster part can be pretty strong (and more durable).

I’m in the endgame now. I’ve done all the main story quests and I’m now just down to taking on the final boss. Not sure if I’m ready yet though. I’ll probably try to hit up a few more shrines first to get my hearts up.

I’m also having a lot of fun just building things. I highly recommend visiting https://www.reddit.com/r/HyruleEngineering/. They’re making a lot of crazy contraptions.

I’m going to:

  • do all the shrines
  • complete all three labyrinths(I have done one and it had 3 levels)
  • try to find as many lightroots as possible
  • fight and defeat a Gleeok(I did this today)
  • Upgrade an armor to full strength, probably the soldier one

Ooh, I completely forgot about those. Now I know what I’m doing next

Start on the surface first. Sky and Depths will follow(they are locked initially).

Cool discovery…I was near a chasm to the depths when I saw a dragon nose dive toward it and start going down the chasm. I just simply thought “huh, cool” and stood watching it slowly fly down past. Mrs Gargoyle suggested “why don’t you try jumping on it.” i say “You’re crazy, no way that would work”. Well, suddenly I went on an amazingly cool dragon ride as it flew through the depths and back out, and found dragon crystals to loot on its back. No idea what it is there for otherwise, but apparently it functions as a London Underground system to easily travel the depths. Very cool.

Wow.

Have you found the dragon in the sky that was circling the Great Sky Island that the tutorial took place on? I kept climbing until I eventually did see it again. It was very high up, but is out there.

Worth it.

Has anyone got a feel for how vehicles despawn in this game? I’ve lost a few hover-engines going around the depths because my battery is a bit meagre (currently have three). Seems like I should be able to find it but completely disappeared, I assume despawned.

I recently did the throwing-the-eyes-down-the-chasms quest which was a bit of legwork, fully expected to receive 50 rupees or something but the reward was actually decent.

Probably my least favorite quest in the game, though I admit that doing it later in the game(I have eight batteries and much more autobuilds of quality), it would have been easier.

It’s all about how far you get from it. Apparently if you attach a dragon part to them you can get a lot further away before it despawns.

I have 134 hours in the game now and I have done a lot. I have complete the four main areas/dungeons and many sidequests. I have 142 shrines, which I think means I have 10 left.

I have done many, many, many sidequests and side-adventures.

It is the greatest game of all time, though you only get one “first” time through a great game like this. It’s one of the best pieces of entertainment media I’ve ever seen or interacted with.

My grandson is being weird about starting his copy of the game, but he plays my game every time I see him. He likes the battles, so he’s really moved me along, but I had already gotten through the first three main quests myself.

He’s so much better at the game then I am and he’s only 9. He has such a different playing style and it just kind of fascinates me.

I’m a little overwhelmed with all the clothing choices.

I decided to stop futzing around with shrines and zonaite devices and finally go beat the game. I won’t spoil anything but the final fight was so much better than BotW. There’s a great “you’ve gotten be kidding me” moment.

I do wish they add a proper post-game to the next Zelda. I want to see my hard work pay off.

I’m just shy of 152 shrines and am actually pausing while my wife and kids visit her family(I am on “cat dad duty”. Anyway, I’ll be resuming soon and I think after the shrines, I’ll be more or less ready to head to the end game portion.

My grandson finished my game. He told me his heart was pounding and his neck hurt after the battle. He makes it look easy. Brat.

It came out two months ago today and I am moving gradually to what I assume will be the endgame. I’ve done 151 shrines and the last one is lost in a cloud of a storm I have yet to clear up.

Anybody have some good prep tips for facing off with Ganon? I’ve got the soldier armor set upgraded twice, the master sword and a lot of weapons around the 50 level. Seems the only recovery food worth making is sundelions mixed with meat so tried to make a half dozen of those.
Still, he doesn’t take much damage and knocks me out slowly dealing gloom on every hit.
Do you have preferred weapons, armor, and recovery food?
