They finished taping the show before it aired.
Also, he came across as a pretty nice guy on the show, good (sometimes risque) sense of humor, not afraid to poke at himself or to give credit where credit is due.
I’ve been impressed. He was paranoid most of the time of being portrayed as either the wild out-of-control rocker, or if that didn’t pan out, the lazy do-nothing. He’s always looking for something to do, follows the project manager extremely well, speaks up when he disagrees but ultimately lets the PM do their job, and as a PM covers all his bases.
I did get a kick out of one episode though, where they had to do a Harry Potter challenge and all other cast members are in medieval style garb, but Bret Michaels is standing there as a presenter in his cowboy hat and Ed Hardy skulls and thorns shirt.
Other than that, he’s been a team player through and through.
I’m not a Poison or Bret Michaels fan but have to say I have been impressed with Bret! He has been the most creative force on almost every challenge, project leader or not! I don’t know how Trump could even consider firing him.
I just finished watching ep 1 on nbc.com I see what you mean about Bret. He did a good job as pm. Of course, having Curtis Stone helping with the menu and kitchen made it easier.
I don’t want to like the guy because a) he was in Poison, and b) he insists on wearing douchewear (cowboy hat, big ass bandana to cover his receding hairline), but he was pretty likable. He played well with the other kids and took the piss out of himself quite a bit. Didn’t take himself too seriously but worked pretty hard. I think he’ll do well.
Incidentally, I saw a tabloid story on his recent health woes. It had a picture of him in the hospital bed… yep, you guessed it, rocking the douche-y hat and douche-y bandana.
Don’t forget the Ed Hardy shirt. Or the fact that he was on a couple VH1 reality shows with the express purpose of getting laid. With ALL of that against him, I’ve really started to like the guy.
