Second, feel a little stupid doing this, but I have no pride left, and there’s a slight urgency since the vet texted that my dog’s ashes are ready to be picked up.
A few people have already been so generous, and I don’t need much, just about $400 to pay for my dog’s cremation so I can get the ashes back. I’m using the old GoFundMe from when I needed the CGM. If anyone prefers, I will send my email address, and you can use PayPal.

A reminder to all, that permission to advertise a GoFundMe or similar crowdfunding on the SDMB is the exception, not the rule. As always, we do not give permission lightly, and want all to understand it’s not something one should depend on. In this case, the poster has had an ongoing financial crisis, so we’ve allowed overlap between the individual spikes.
Each case is handled by the modloop as a whole, so responses can take time, which is never a reflection on the worthiness of the poster or their requests. This is another reason why posters should not depend upon the option or process.
We have not and are not putting in any hard rules at this time because each emergency is different. But we do want all to be careful with such requests - just as in the real world, it is not only hard to ask for help, but it is stressful to see the request and not feel able to help.
