Don’t feel too badly about that. I’ve defended an M.A. thesis (a saga which involved four leg surgeries, the breakup of the Soviet Union, and a dead committee member, not to mention two Russo-Chechen wars) and they still don’t pay me enough for my level of education. Plus I have to pay back student loans, because there is no graduate funding for the humanities in this Godawful screwed-up country with its crappy priorities. So I’ve chosen to spend all my spare cash coming to watch you guys drink beer and act silly. Don’t disappoint me!
(I should be able to spare a couple of bucks to buy someone a beer or two once I get there, though. Don’t mind my kvetching; I’m just grumpy, and trying to help my friend get her fiancé out of Turkmenistan. Never a dull moment around here. Sorry for the hijack.

With the exception of one round (which requires some travelling to set and which I hope to complete tomorrow), the quiz is now set. Rejoice and be glad.
Reading over it, I am disturbed to discover how many questions there are that refer to 1) sex, 2) animals, or 3) bodily functions, with at least two rounds dedicated to at least two out of the three. I’m not sure whether this is mere coincidence, an indication of the caliber of my sense of humor, or some deeply-buried Freudian thing I don’t even want to contemplate. Never mind; what’s grist for my therapist is also grist for your entertainment (and, believe me, it could get very grisly indeed).
On a more serious note, please bring a pencil (with an eraser if possible), as this will be needed for the final round. (You will actually be using these to write; I’m not requiring you to hammer them up ianzin’s nose or anything like that.*) You can use a pen instead, naturally, but I’m guessing you may wish to erase things at some point.
Just to repeat: there will be NO “lounge singer” round. Other previous hints about the quiz largely still apply as well, although they will avail you naught.
Oh, and there will be monkeys. Lots of monkeys.

I have a propelling pencil, but I think I may have broken it. I shal definitely bring my Stationary Box 4H pencil, which I use when I’m attempting to concentrate and write at the same time.
i’ll bring a 4b pencil just so i can be messy.
