garius, I’d just like to point out that there is just over a week and a half until the DopeFest… I will be in groin kicking, knee biting, ear twisting range then… Oh, and in a position to deny you baked goods…
Sorry. Its nine in the morning so i’m not thinking straight.
i’d forgotten this hour even existed.
55 posts? (now 56). Hellfire Leonard! I need to find something more constructive to do with my time.
I thought it would have been about 25-30.
I’m still not dead. But it seems I’ve got a lot of catching up to do.
Hey, not to be pragmatic or anything, but did anyone ever decide on a meeting time/place for a) the initial round and b) for those of us who may be too sleep-deprived to make the initial round, any subsequent rounds?
If y’all still aren’t sure and think you may not know precise details until the day of, whom should I e-mail for a mobile phone number, so I can call when I regain consciousness?
Eva and anyone else… trust me, the full details are going to be posted here in good time. There’s no point in my doing this yet because the msg will just get swamped and lost amidst all the extraneous content. But it will be here, relax.
Sorry, I’m just being my legalistic, anal-retentive work self. I promise I’m more relaxed when I’m six time zones away from my office!
As long as its posted before next Friday evening, so I can read it before my bake-athon, with added white chocolate chip cookies to be sent to my brother.
how is your brother doing? have they got any further with prosecuting (i have very little experience of this sort of thing so im not sure on time scales etc.)?
I’ve posted updates as/when I know in the thread in the Pit. I’m not hijacking this one!

sorry
For those of you coming in from the southeast, apparently there’s going to be railway engineering work going on between London Bridge and Charing Cross on the 29th.
Just so’s ya know.
I’ll be driving in, so rail shouldn’t be a problem. God, I’m looking forward to this - I’ve had a hellacious week at work, and I don’t expect next week to be any better.
Angua, please give my deepest salaams to your brother, and my best wishes for his speedy recovery.
Looking forward to some great company and oodles of baked goods, and I’ll be brushing up on my trivial knowledge
Thanks Bib. I will.
Now, slightly related to the day, can you imagine what would happen if we all turned up here ? It could be rather hillarious!
Oh, and with T-8 days to beer, AnguaCookies, mine pies, more beer, and lots of fun stuff (can we have Kaboom! paper ianzin?) All I can say is hurrah! Hopefully my brother will be out of hospital, I won’t be quite so sleep deprived as I am now, and my throat won’t be hurting either. It’ll be fun! Wheeeeeee!!!
Yes, I need a break, why do you ask?
Hey, that Dana Centre actually looks pretty good, despite the manager calling it ‘funky.’
Do you think they named it after Dana Scully?
It does, doesn’t it.
Dunno. But on their website , they give more information, and it sounds like just the place that would appeal to the BritDopers. And its even got a bar.
I see they have a contortionist on the Friday evening.
Hmm, I might have a word about the Dana centre. I do quite a lot of stuff for the science museum and know people there.
free tickets! because i’m people what knows people!
Woohoo! One week from right this minute, I will be leaving for the airport! Heavily laden with rugelach, various Latin grocery items for my homesick Salvadoran friend in Kent (anyone think I should try to sneak fresh plntains through Customs?), various kiddie gifts for other munchkins to be visited later in the trip, and other stuff. Oh yeah, and clean clothes and my passport…
See y’all soon! Apricot/walnut rugelach? Raspberry? Chocolate? Or all of the above, time permitting?
Are you sure we’re not expected?
Adult humour, theatrics, pub quizzes: sounds like a standard Londope to me.
