British comedy group/show? Goonies?

All the British comedians always mention this group or show as being a major influence on them. I think it’s close to Goonies, but that’s not quite it?

Thanks!

The Goodies.

Back in the '50’s (and early '60’s?), there was the Goon Show, with Spike Milligan, Harry Secombe, Peter Sellers, and others. This was also an extremely influential comedy milestone.

FWIW, you can see a small bit of recreated Goon sillyness in the HBO movie “The Life and Death of Peter Sellers”.

Yes, you’re mixing The Goons with The Goodies together.

The Goon Show is definitely the one you are thinking of.

Hell yeah, the Goodies are fine, but The Goon Show is seminal.

I defy anyone to listen to Confessions of a Secret Senna-Pod Drinker without soiling themselves with laughter.
