Brody the Obstreperous Puppy

Taters , you’ve got some smart kids there. Congratulations to both tater-tots for their awards!

And I think next week’s MMP vocabulary word should be obsequious. Just because that’s what I thought was in last week’s MMP. And yes, I spelled that right on my own (with a little double-check at dictionary.com). I came in second place in the school spelling bee when I was in 8th grade.

That’s about all I got. I could mention that my cat seems to be vomitting more in the past couple days, and that my kitchen sink is making ominous noises (not that the two instances are connected, it just happens to be that way), but I’m sure you’re not interested. I’m not surprised, since I happen to be going away for the weekend, so I expected stuff to start being ominous right before I go - it’s a natural law.

Susan

I just got home. I’m generally sore, but not monumentally painful. It feels like I was kicked in the gut.

It hurts to cough, blow my nose, or even fart. Farting is important with this one, because you have to get rid of the gas they blow you up with, but also because it means your intestines are working. In keeping with the developing theme of this week’s MMP, I haven’t pooped since Sunday, and right now I don’t wanna.

Leave it to VunderWife to embellish the story about the surgery. I was in for 2:20, and the main problem was the standard male beer gut, which I have. The way BGF is carried makes it tough on the surgeon, and it took longer, but I was done laparoscopically, as intended.

They never accepted my living will, but I did ask for a cold beer at one point Monday, and a female voice said “I could use one, too.” Nothing else was said. Most of the day was a real blur.

Right now, I need a nap.

I’m so glad you’re home V-Bob! Hopefully, they sent you home with some good pain relievers. Poor you can’t fart, can’t poop. My husband just couldn’t survive if he wasn’t able to fart  ! I can relate to not wanting to do number two (see I classed up just a lil) after surgery. Things are rather uh…hmmm…hard to move along because of the anesthesia and stuff.

Well, I better try and do some work now.

Whoohoo! bob’s back! Yay! Glad the surgery went well.

Taters, you can totally have this weather back. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. 30 again today, goodness knows how hot with humidex. Muggy and 90F, people! Pity me! The air conditioner is on, and I’m hiding inside for the day, except when I sneak out to get slushies.

Just got back from the dentist. man! That was one fun time. Katcha had his regularly scheduled teeth cleaning, but since he’s too young to drive and Soupo is too young to stay home by himself we all went.

Katcha was one brave little soldier and hopped up in the big scary dentist chair, no problem. And he got his teeth scraped and polished, no problem. (The TV in the dentisting room was on and set to cartoons. We could have cut his leg off and he wouldn’t have noticed.) Then when he was all done, Soupo nearly threw him out of the dental chair so Rick (our hygenist- who is the best hygenist ever) could clean up three of his teeth. He had way too much tartar (according to him) and it needed looking after RIGHT NOW. Could it wait the three weeks until his very own dentist appointment rolled around? Of course not.

Then Rick said that Soupo’s recurrant teeth stains were probably genetic (the Little Woman gets similar stains on her teeth, only not as bad) (oh yeah, the Little Woman had her dentist appointment yesterday afternoon and she has a cavity) and he, Rick, reccomended we get a spinny toothbrush for Soup’.

Luckily Target is right across the street from the dentist, so we ran over to get him a new spinny toothbrush. And more film so I can take more pictures of Brody which you can’t look at.

So that’s what I was doing this morning.

Fart on, Bob!

Jeepers, VBob, normally fart talk would bring the tone of the MMP down (to where it usually settles), but this time, you are bringing the tone up!

Yes, my ferrets steal things, and you would be surprised how much can go behind a TV cabinet. Of course, to them, it isn’t stealing at all–“this is mine!”

Rue, we are starting to get suspicious. Sure, there is a puppy. Who’s Afraid of Rue DeDay?

With all this talk of poop, there *must * be a puppy.

BOBBIO!!! You are a real trooper! I’m glad you aren’t in major pain. Have a good nap!

Liss, what are you doing with Florida weather??? It’s June fer crissakes! You probably haven’t even put away your woolies yet.

taters, good for you and DH for producin’ little smartypantses! Seriously, kudos cause I know the hard work it involves.

susan you must ignore the cat and sink! If they think you have noticed them, they will only get worse!

wile e, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Well, since this is the MMP - Monday Morning Poo - discussion, I will ask this here. I bought some wheat germ because I heard a rumor it’s healthy and good for you, although I don’t see how something with “germ” in the name could be good for you. Yesterday, I started having a small cup of yogurt for breakfast with a couple spoonfuls of wheat germ in it. I noticed that there seems to be more activity … you know, down there. Is that a side effect of the wheat germ? I’ve only had a couple spoonfuls. I feel like such an old person.
Speaking of Florida weather we have our first possible Tropical Storm forming in the Gulf! Wheee! Here we go again.

Well, I just pooed. It was like a cork shot out of a champagne bottle, what with the build-up right behind. Didn’t hurt too bad, either. Most of the serious discomfort should be gone by the weekend. I hope so.

Took one of my required walks, down to the end of the street. No problems there.

They gave me Vicodin for pain. I tried to talk them into Oxycontin, so I could open up a side business while recuperating, but the doctor wouldn’t go for it.

Wheat germ is pretty fibrous. So yeah, you’re probably going to be a little more active in that department.

It could also be a reaction to the yogurt. If there are still live cultures in it, it will eat stuff in your intestines that ordinarily just pass through. The same thing happens if you drink homebrew…the little yeasties go nuts in your bowels and you get very productive gas-wise.

I would think if you are combining wheat germ with yogurt you would definitely end up with a microbial party going on.

[parental voice]bob, we’re so proud of you makin’ a poopy![/parental voice]

Oh, I was right. First thing this morning I got a plea to do a PowerPoint presentation for our research department. It was all good though cause I got a firsthand look at the employee survey results that are just in. Whoot! Interesting stuff that.

wile e, did you hear about the turtles down in south FL making their nests higher than normal (just like last year)? Seems “they” think it’s an indicator the turtles know another bad season is coming.

Wheat germ is notorious for it’s ability to provide chemical ammunition.

OK, you shamed me into it. Here they are!

My kid and her bf are at Six Flags America today - I don’t know if they’ll be home for dinner or not. My sweetie has physical therapy at 6 tonight and he’s got to leave at 5. So I’m thinking it’ll be a quick and easy dinner for one tonight. I think I’ve got a bit of salmon left over.

That’s all I’ve got. It was a boring day.

OK I have no poop stories other than I wanted to throw up a little when someone mention squishing warm poo between their toes.

I have had a crazy busy week and a half and yet achieved very little. Hmmm something isn’t right there somewhere.

WHOOHOO Bobbio and congrats on the poop

Lissla yay on the AC and the bad neighbours

Taters has smart cookies for kiddies

Rue PUPPY PICTURES PLEEEEEEASE

Did y’all miss me yesterday? Yesterday was tres weird at the swampcave. I got up, went out and checked on the pool and there was waaaaaay too much water in it! Apparently it rained sometime during Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning. A lot! Water was over the top of the skimmer! So, I had to drain off a bunch of water. There was also all kinds of ook in the bottom. Residuals from the mustard algae problem (I have to vacuum three or four times a week for a couple of weeks to get all the dead algae out), pine straw (grrrr! my neighbors need to keep their pine straw in their yards!), and frogs! Little baby frogs everywhere! So, I ended up just calling in and saying I’m staying home to deal with some problems. I drained, vacuumed, backwashed, filtered, shocked the pool and spent much time going back and forth checking all the chemical stuff. Good thing the dang thing is so much fun to play in is all I can say. Since I was home, in between doing all that I did laundry and a bunch of ironing too. I never even turned my puter on all day.

Bobbio glad yer home and poopin’ again.

Purty pots and such there FCM.

Still no puppy pictures. That’s it! Rue made the puppy up. That’s why there’s no pics.

Oh, and it rained last night. A lot. I drained off water this morning but no ook stuff in the pool. My grass looks like it ain’t been cut in a month though its only been a week. Le sigh! If it holds off raining long enough, guess I get to mow when I get home.

The tropical depression could be a tropical storm sometime today. Batten down the hatches Puggy and Wile E and other Flahrdee MMPers. Here we go again!

-swampbear (big storms are predicted starting tomorrow. GRRRRRR!!!)

The puppy pictures is… I don’t know where right now. I’m waiting for the Little Woman to scan it at work, and she’s been busy.

But to shut you people up, or at least quiet you down some, I have this, this (Soupo), this (Katcha), aaaaaaaaaand this. It’s the best I can do right now. Pretend there’s more fur on them and we’ll call things even for now.

fcm, way cool pots! I love the bluish one.

swampy, I take it your pool isn’t screened. Almost every pool down here is. Keeps out the pine straw AND the ubiquitous skeeters. I don’t think we gotta worry too much about the tropical storm (Adrienne?) as the weather dude’s are predictin’ it ain’t gonna get stronger than a TS and it’s going to veer towards the gulf. Here’s hopin’ cause those dudes have been wrong before.

rue, those are the CUTEST puppies I’ve seen in a long time! Beautiful eyes! Better get an unlisted number now. The girls will be callin!’

I have nothing to report other than a brewing cat fight between my two young lady team members. One just graduated and came on board but she has been interning with us since last year. The other is older and has experience but was just hired. She’s tryin’ to stake out territory and is circumventing the chain of command by going directly to the dept. head. Not a good team play. Anyhoo, looks like I’ll need to put on my “team mom” hat here in a bit.

It’s Arlene. The name just doesn’t have much punch, then again neither did Floyd but he was pretty bad ass. I will never have a hurricane named after me, my name is too odd.

Taters maybe Rue can make some certificates for your yungins like he did for VBob. Congrats to them.

I missed everything because I had to go golfing yesterday for work. It was just awful! There was free drinks and food, sunny day with no rain, lots a fun people to be around, I was still on the clock at work, and worst of all, our foursome came in first place (it was a Florida-style best ball tournament - without the hurricanes) so they gave us money! I tell ya, I can’t take another day like that. Unless it’s tomorrow.

So that’s where I was yesterday, instead of here at the MMP. I didn’t want anyone to think that swampy was cheating on ACBG while he was gone (because neither of us posted yesterday.)
