Brody the Obstreperous Puppy

Oh, and merrily big steaming piles of poo and HIPAA are one in the same. Except most of the time I rather shovel big steaming piles of poo that deal with HIPAA. Usually I use a lot more colorful language when HIPAA is involved.

I do what I can. Sometimes it just ain’t enough, though.

Now about those puppy pictures …

I hate computers.

I have an old laptop I bought about 8 years ago. It worked great until I needed to install Win98 to run a certain program I needed to communicate with work.
Now, not so much.

Afew days ago I had the following interchange with said laptop:

Me: connect to the internet.
It: I can’t. I don’t have a NIC card.
Me: opening control panel. selecting hardware profiles (or whatever it’s called in Win98)
It: We have a NIC card, but it’s not working. It doesn’t have a driver.
Me: find the driver.
It: (several minutes later) I’ve found the driver and installed it.
Me: close control panel.
Me: connect to the internet.
It: I can’t. I don’t have a NIC card.

Lather, rinse, repeat. three times.

The computer still won’t connect.

Took your minds off of poo didn’t it?

Bumba I expect that I shall be saying poo or it’s potty mouthed alternative this evening when I attempt to see what my laptop/notebook/whatever will do with it’s new ethernet card.

Right next to HIPAA in that poo pile is Sarbanes-Oxley. Just sayin’.

I feel a little bit left out, with all these stories about poo. I don’t have any good poo stories. That’s 'cause I have rabbits, and their poo isn’t mushy and stinky. So if they miss the litterbox, I can just pick it up and throw it away. Also makes great fertilizer! Bunnies are great! And I have a new laptop, so it doesn’t make me say “poo” very often.

But I still want a puppy.

If you get a puppy Eyes, you’ll never have to pick up bunny poop again. I’m not saying they’ll never miss the litter box, you just won’t have to pick it up.

Just sayin’.

Oh, right, I wasn’t even thinking about the added bonus of a puppy vacuum cleaner! See, I really should get a puppy, shouldn’t I?

HeeHee… that’s our CFO’s personal poo pile.

Isa the chihuahua is currently in the dog house with The Princess[sup]TM[/sup] for kitty poo chompin.’ It wouldn’t have been so bad except Isa decided to transport the poo stick to the couch where The Princess was reclining.

Sorry, sean and bumba, you did your best.

Swampy, I refuse to believe there is such a place as Chillicothe. Oh sure, people talk about it all the time and act like it’s an actual place (even map-makers are in on it). But it’s not real, like sending someone on a snipe hunt. Don’t let them send you to Chillicothe, they’re up to something! Ask them to prove the place actually exists and when they can’t, you won’t have to go!

Oog, I hate grading time. A kid with a cumulative 2.6 percent actually asked me if he was passing. *Now * he cares?

Ashes[sup]2[/sup] I’d say that’s a kid in deep, deep poo. Mapquest says Chillicothe, IL exists. What’s a bear to do!

Lissla I’m glad the neighbors from heck are moving. Yay for you!

Guess what? I bought the wrong thingy for my laptop/notebook/whatever. I figured it out as soon as I really looked at it. So, it’s off to Circus City again tomorrow to, hopefully, get the right dang thingy this time.

-swampbear (I need another beer. Ok, not need but want)

My baby and the odd fellow she calls her boyfriend are here. They’re going to tour NASA tomorrow - first time she wanted to see where Dad works. Dunno what else they have planned. I’ll be at work.

Time for bed now. Try not to miss me!

Yay VunderBob! I didn’t have access to the Net from Friday to Monday and was hoping there would be news by the time I got home. Read about it last night, but was too tired to post. Hope your recovery progresses rapidly!

And, by the way, lovely Certificate or Sumpin’ back there, Rue. However, do not get the impression that it excuses you from the obligation to share puppy pictures, as it does not…

Me, I survived the whirlwind Carribean trip quite nicely. The wedding was very nice, on a beach, with cooperative weather. Also the ceremony was nice - low-key etc. Reception was fun, lots of merengue to keep things lively. Got to meet lots of people I’d heard about or seen in pictures (I’ve known Local Best Friend for about 15 years and have met just about all of her immediate family, aunts, uncles and first cousins, but hadn’t met the more distant cousins, former neighbors, and closest family friends). Also got to meet the groom’s family - interesting, Doper-quality people (frighteningly accomplished, good sense of humor, interested in a broad range of stuff from the technical to the artsy). Mostly, though, I treated it as the vacation I sorely needed but don’t have time for till August. Got lots of sleep, did some minor sightseeing, didn’t think about work for more than a few minutes. And, other than about a 1/2 hour delay on the way back, all the travel went smoothly.

I’m sure I have more to add, but I just finished running a bunch of errands and now I’m tired.

Mr. Lissar is installing the air conditioner right now. It may be cool enough to sleep, if I go to bed in an hour.

This is good news. I like it.

Air conditioning? We don’t need no steenkin’ AC here. It’s raining and in the 60s. Guess what the weather report says for the weekend? Yep, rain and in the 60s. You stole our weather didn’t you Lissla? Damn, buy a boat and except for one or two days the sun just won’t appear on the weekends. Want to trade? (the weather, not the boat. I don’t think the hubby would go for that)

I spent today at work catching up what I missed yesterday. Tomorrow I plan to run some queries, reports, trend charts, etc, but one of the DBs I use is having a major conniption fit. They added stuff to it and fixed ( ) it and now it won’t update/refresh or FTP. I need to get this stuff done before my boss returns on the 20th. I also have another datacall to complete before the end of the month for our higher HQ, but once again, that database I just mentioned is throwing a big-ass wrench into the works. Sigh…can’t things just go smoooooothly, for once? Yeah, I’ll get through it, but this always happens when I least need it to.

That was a very purty certificate you made there Rue .

FCM, weren’t you going to pick of the last of the FCM pottery collection and post some pics?

**Rue, ** I’m tappin’ my foot waiting on those pics of the puppy. Are we all nagging you enough yet?

We have a very busy end of school year schedule. Lessee, this Thursday is my daughter’s last Concert band concert. On Tuesday, the 14th, the daughter (along with several other kids from her school) is going to a Six-Flags run waterpark because of her accomplishments in school, then on Thursday, the 16th, she’s being recognized at an award ceremony and it’s a big FBI secret. She doesn’t know and I only found out because the school sent a letter/invitation in the mail. They won’t even tell us which award or how many she’s getting. The 20th, my son is getting recognized at an award ceremony. The 21st is my daughter’s first formal dance and finally (!) the 22nd of June is the last day of school. Of course I won’t be going to the dance, but I think I may be the chauffeur (sp?) for her and some of her friends. The son’s award ceremony is during work hours (of course!) so I need to arrange to be able to take some time off for this too. Between all of this is work and the rest of my mundane, but certainly not pointless, life.

I don’t have any exciting poo stories…wait, about three years ago I found my dog trying to eat my cat’s poo from the litter box in the garage. Just…ugh! I broke him of that habit, but now the cat has a covered litter box anyway.

That’s all I’ve got for now. I need to throw a load of clothes in the dryer and hit the sack. Yes, yes I know, now I’ll need to iron those clothes, but I’m not staying up to wait for the load to dry and then fold it. It’s 10:24 pm and I’ve got to go back to the salt mines tomorrow.

Nite-nite, sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite.

Magic, those were lovely bunny pictures. I so want to be a bunny mother, but I have 3 ferrets right now. As much as it might amuse some people, I really don’t like hunting in the house…and ferrets are awfully cute anyway.

However, like many pets, they can be revenge poopers. “What?! Here I am looking all winsome and thin and stepping on your foot in the kitchen, and all you offer is one lousy cheerio? Well, let me back into this corner to get your attention…”

The dearly departed Boris was a revenge pooper. But only if we left the house and didn’t take him. “You’re leavin’ without me??? Well, @#%* on YOU!!!” Or something to that effect.

It is very muggy here this morning and already 80 U ASS degrees. I’m wearing a little knit sleeveless dress which is quite comfortable…outside. Howsomeever, the AC is blasting in the office as usual and my toesies are friz.

I should really reorganize my files since my team leader is having out-patient surgery and it’s pretty dull around here. Meh, if I started that, somebody will need something R-I-G-H-T-A-W-A-Y.

Tupug

Thanks! Pictures just don’t show how cute they really are. I love ferrets, too, but I don’t think they’d get along very well with rabbits.

Do your ferrets steal things? A friend of mine has a houseful of ferrets, and they like to steal just about anything that’s not nailed down. They find things in strange places all the time. She says they’re narcoleptic kleptomaniac ferrets.

Revenge Poopers?

BAND NAME!
