Ooo, nice. There’s a historical reference that deserves forceful resurrection.
A Breaking News story on CNN.com:
"Embattled FEMA Director Michael Brown is being sent back to Washington and a new leader has been picked to handle on-site Hurricane Katrina relief operations, a senior administration official tells CNN. "
Done.
Well, sorta. He has merely been “sent back to Washington”. Hopefully, this is a prelude to remove the wanker from office, but I won’t believe it until I see it.
To supervise. With any luck, he’ll be supervising the signing of an already prepared resignation letter. He’ll walk into his office, and his desk will be completely empty except for this letter sitting on it. Or maybe a revolver with one bullet in it. Whatever.
Naw, they’d leave it fully loaded, expecting him to miss the first few times.
Sounds like someone is playing the blame game. I had it on pretty good authority (Scotty C) that this administration does that. And I have it on pretty bad authority (various SDMB jackasses) that now is not the time or the place.
I don’t know what I’m supposed to think!
I hope someone isn’t flip-flopping. That’d be almost Kerry-ish. Our Fearless Leader wouldn’t that.
Michael Brown must be returning so he can resign of his own volition because he’s failed his Lord and Master. There’s no other explanation.

No, no. It is no acknowledgement of anything in regards to Katrina. This administration values honesty and integrity so greatly that it has to let him go after finding out that he lied on his resume.
See how easy this is?
Plus, it’ll be five days before he starts trying to shoot.
No doubt that letter of resignation has an “old boys’ network” proviso, whereby Brown can be placed into another government job for which he is equally unqualified. Hey you can’t forget your friends right?
WTF???
Well according this this article the no good bastard has finally bit the dust.

For no better reason than he gets shit done I wish Lt. General Honore had gotten the job…
From the more spin zone: Brown was leaving anyway.
Sure he was planning on leaving. Yep.
Hey, can I have the FEMA position? I’m at least as qualified as Brown.
So does an exceptional goldfish.
The question is, have either you or the goldfish sucked the right dick?
-Joe
Screw the FEMA position – too much opportunity for stress. How do I get that Horsey Job? You must rub some pretty big time elbows if you go from there to a top position in government!
“But a source close to Brown, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the FEMA director had been considering leaving after the hurricane season ended in November and that Friday’s action virtually assures his departure.”
I can see it now:
Brown: Well, to tell you the truth, I was going to leave this year anyway, so no big deal.
Reporter: Really? You expect the public to believe that?
Brown: They will, if you don’t report that I said it. Just say it was an anonymous source.
Reporter: Well, I don’t know…
Brown: I’ll tell you what. (holds up his hand in a mouth shape and makes it “talk”) My good friend Mike Brown told me months ago he was thinking about leaving at the end of this year’s hurricane season. I am speaking on condition of anon, uh, anin, uh, don’t say who I am.
Reporter: Good enough.
Rub? Yes.
Elbows? Wrong body part.
They only have openings for a Product Marketing Manager and a Registry Services Rep right now. On their front page is a mention of assisting equine and other animal victims of Katrina; not a word about Brown. (I used to drive very near there till my company moved - never knew it existed!)
Look way up and you’ll see I already beat him to asking for the job :).
Anyway, I haven’t sucked the right dick yet but point me in the right direction and I’ll get cracking.
