Hi,
I am running FF2.0 browser on a XP machine with a couple of extensions such as Adblock and No Script.
My problem is that whenever there’s a link for Quicktime content the link is broken (indicated by the broken film piece icon with Q on it).
The content that doe-s seem like it will play gets caught by my No Script extension and all hell breaks loose.
I figured closing out the browser should do the trick, but it doesn’t because when I restart FF Windows XP tells me the a version of FF is already running and it won’t allow me to start another. Well then I figure "ok, something’s stuck in there somewhere and I should re-start, right? Ahh, but that would be too convenient; Windows drags it’s feet telling me this and that is not responding and to click the End Now button to - end it now… I do this until there is nothing left on the computer visible except the desktop ( Sans Icons) … so then I am forced to hold the power button down and wait for the no power state and reboot again.
I in my infinite wisdom also happened on one of my reboots to take advantage of the “restore session” feature now included with FF2.0 and well :smack: …yeah, all over again… sigh
So my question is actually two part: 1) even if I am occasionally able to with cat-like reflexes disable the No Script feature from blocking some vital Quicktime-related content: How do I make working links out of these broken ones? I’ve already update quicktime.
- Is there a way to prevent my computer from …errr- melting down if something in the browser goes wrong? I had the impression that XP OS’s weren’t supposed to be like this. So far I’m hating anything Mac that is mixed with Microsoft or related software that runs with Microsoft… someone help…
