Brrrrrrrrrr in the MMP

Mwahahahaha!

Moi? :dubious:

My ex Wayne (now deceased) lived with his parents for a while. Unknown to me, his mother picked up the extension and listened in when I was chewing him out for something. He called me a while later and told me not to say anything to him on the phone because his mother had been listening in. He was pretty mad at me because after we hung up she chewed his ass out for whatever it was he did to piss me off and that he’d better fix it.
I loved that woman. Of course she’d chew me a new one from time to time as well.
I’ve gotten as many as 4 meals out of one dinner out Spidey. My friends tell me I should be a twig.
I’m not.

Stop that, stop that!

:dubious:

Awww sorry Flytrap :frowning:

If it makes you feel any better he was the best ex I ever had.

He lived hard, worked hard, partied harder, and died fairly young.
His mother liked me because I kept him grounded.

So you’re merely pinin’ for the fjords?

Funny – that’s what the Old Wench always recommends!

PS – I say come down with a cold and skip the lunch.

:smack:

It’s not quite an ingrown nail but one trying its best to become one. Epsom Salts here I come.

I have one of those, a chop saw, a ton of meat cleavers, lots of knives and a fair assortment of firearms. But if it gets to that point I’m going straight to explosives. If its worth doing, it’s worth at least doing it with a quarter-stick or so. :stuck_out_tongue:

Damn it, I confuse which of you is ill.
:dubious:

You all post alike, after all.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. It’s only a short 9 hour day today.

Neither one. Il is no more.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 49 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 54 and rainy this mornin’. Looks like rain shall be upon us within the hour. I start my day in Da Burg so at least I get to slack a bit in da cave before headin’ out.

OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas and alack I must purtify for irk.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Too many deaths this month, dammit! My sister found out last night that her ex-BF just died. While they didn’t have a particularly amicable parting, they had been together for a long time and she’s still friends with his sister. He was an OK guy mostly, I guess, but I’m surprised he lived as long as he did - he wasn’t the most health-conscious of people. Still, no more deaths for a while, please.

No idea what today holds, but I suspect it won’t involve a lot of work. Spousal unit says they’re really busy at his work - I’m going to craft a resume and cover letter to them this weekend. If they make an offer that at least matches my pay here, I’ll jump in a heartbeat. Plus it’d have the advantage of not being on base. Fingers crossed.

Meanwhile, just another day in paradise! Happy Thursday!

blurf.

or as they say in French, Spanish, Gaelic, Hebrew, etc etc … blurf.

BLURF my streak of sleeping well has come to an end. Was awake off and on several times. Sinuses are giving me a fit but I think it may be the beginnings of a cold. Late yesterday around 430 pm there was a fire alarm at the Child Development Center across the street from my building and since it was drizzling all 300 plus kids from infants in cribs to 4 year old were in my building and one of them probably got me sick.I no like kids. The fire alarm was a false alarm.

I doubt I would have a cold that quickly but if I do wind up with a cold I am blaming the kids.

I don’t want to go to irk today but I must. **Snot green BLURF **

{{{butters}}} Get well soon. I slept in all the way to 5:02am (alarm is set for 5:05) today, guess I’m getting lazy in my dotage.

FCM, do you use some service to locate jobs or just word of mouth? My plans for now is to use May-August to get some work done on my house that I have been putting off (some walls, a ceiling leak, maybe a new roof and a kitchen remodel), vacation in September, and then see about getting a job to keep what remains of my brain cells entertained. Problem is, I haven’t had to go looking for a job since 1981 and haven’t changed positions in the government since 1985, so I’m a wee bit out of practice…

flytrap, spidey, you’ll be glad to know I can’t tell you apart either…

MetalMouse - I think my current position came about because of LinkedIn, altho I might have applied for it via a local community website’s job listings. I’d put in for a few drafting positions, but it had been a while, so maybe I was dug out of an old file. Dunno.

The one I’m going to apply for I know about because my husband works there and he said they’re swamped.

Currently in thumb-twiddling mode. I fixed a couple of drawings and found some errors in a data base which I can’t fix, but I notified the person responsible. We shall see what else lands upon my desk…

30 this morning in South Texas. My sister’s in Wisconsin, where it is 35. I willl get back at her this afternoon, when it will be 70 here, but still 35 there.

Not as much as here.

I’m feeling like Mooom – too many funerals already. Found out yesterday that a co-workers mother passed either by “misadventure” (as they say) or possibly murder. This will make the 4th time this year I’ve had to comfort someone I care about and its not even Feb 1 yet.

Happy Thorsday!

It’s a sunny 24 degrees, going to get up to 37. Next week is supposed to be in the 50s. WTF? February 1 is supposed to be 55 degrees.

Rough night last night, I woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep. This morning hasn’t been much better. I burned my finger taking a hot bowl out of the microwave and just some other shit going on.

SSDD

One of the guys who works here used to work for **FCD **and was fired because of incompetence. I can see why. He’s been here longer than I have and he still struggles with the most basic stuff. He asked me to help him edit an Excel spreadsheet - not the setup - just adding the info. That’s an elementary task, not something an experienced worker should be fighting with. eeeesh…

Swampy, glad you’re our resident Suth’ner. Chik-Fil-A was giving away chikun bizkuts this morning. Don’t know how how something can be so buttery moist & dryer than sawdust at the same time. I washed it down with some water & instantly felt the stomach go ::SPRONG::. You know how there’s different types of flour, wheat, oat, corn, etc. I think these were made with concrete flour! You can have my share of bizkuts.
In other news, 11am call ran long so I didn’t go to lunch (though two others on the call with me did decide to go late. @#$&*!) Leaving 35-40 mins late for lunch is kinda pointless if you ask me as others should be finishing before I order.
