Good for him. What I hate about this being documented on E!, is that I just know that the rest of Kartrashian’s are going to weasel their way into it, and it will eventually become a show about how his transition is effecting them.
Rumor has it, that this info is how Kris kept him under her thumb these past few years.

It was, AFAIK, a full transgender swap, so I would assume that loss of testosterone and maintenance of estrogen etc. would be a part of it. It’s still… damned peculiar.
I think this has been in the works for years. Wasn’t it a couple of years ago that he had his adam’s apple shaved?
If it weren’t for all the negative attitudes towards transgenders, this would have been a great way to troll the tabloid media. Bruce would be giggling to himself going out to get a manicure, letting his hair grow out etc…
I have to stand behind anyone making any choice that makes them feel their life is improved, but…
…at 65? When we can assume that sexuality is and will increasingly be a mental state rather than a physical one? After a lifetime of being an admired and very masculine public figure? A bit like getting divorced after 50 years, or adopting a 50-year-old child.
But power to him (her as it becomes appropriate).
It sucks (s)he had to wait so long to be his (her) true self (if this is true, after all), but better late than never, I say. At least (s)he can live his (her) remaining years at peace with him(her)self.

No it’s seemingly true. Jenner’s mom spoke about it. And it’s hard to ignore the pictures that have come out. In one he is wearing some sort of jog bra and in another he has red fingernails and lip gloss on.
Kim Kardashian alluded to it in an interview, as well. She said something like “Bruce is on a journey will tell his story when he is ready.”
Once the transition is over can she compete in the decathlon again? Lest we forget Bruce was once one of the best athletes in the world.
Nah, she’ll be way too old for the Olympics.

About 10 years ago, the Discovery Channel had two programs called “Changing Sexes”, and in the f-to-m program, they introduced “Scott, who used to be Caroline”, and when he held up his HS graduation picture, I nearly fell off the couch.
I went to high school with him, and had several classes with him, back when he was Caroline. :eek:
She was a very attractive young woman, too, and I had absolutely.no.idea.

Not to be snarky, because I genuinely am curious about this - why, under such circumstances, do people say things like “she was such a handsome guy” or “he was such a seriously attractive girl”? WTF difference does that make? I just don’t understand - is there some implication that being an attractive woman should make a person less likely to be trans? Or that being an UNattractive woman would somehow explain why the person really felt he was male?
It’s sort of like the questions about is this person gay or lesbian before or after transition. Unless you’re planning to date the person I’m not sure why that’s relevant. Hell, I don’t think it’s a relevant question for cis people most of the time, with endless speculation as to whether this or that actor is gay. What does it matter? Rock Hudson was no less sexy a guy for being gay, there are numerous out of the closet gay actors who have no trouble playing heterosexuals on the big or little screen, it just baffles me how concerned people get about which parts are getting jiggy with what parts.
See, that’s the thing I’ve seen over and over with trans folks - so often no one seems to have a clue, and I think it’s because they are trying so damn hard to fit in, to play the part, to somehow force themselves to be what society expects. Some of them get damn good at it, so good we “have no clue”. That doesn’t change what’s inside them anymore than Neil Patrick Harris playing a heterosexual in a movie or TV show somehow makes him less homosexual in reality.
I’m trying to figure out why I should care about any of this. If he’s been living a lie for all these years or has just had some sort of psychotic break, why do the lurid details need to be in the public eye?

I’m curious if this is something he was thinking about way back when or if it’s been more recent.
There’s recent pics on the internet of Jenner lighting a cigarette while sitting in a car. Almost more shocking that a former Olympic athlete smokes than that they are changing gender.
