I just read an article online somewhere. I have now misplaced where I read it. The article says they are planning a 2 hour BSG movie to take place between season 3 and 4. The plans are for it to be a straight to DVD release but if it turns out good enough it may get a theatrical release. Anyone else hear about this?
Yes, I’ve heard of this. What I know:[ul][]No plans for a theatrical release. Direct to DVD.[]It was contingent on the greenlighting of season four. No season four, no movie. With season four now a Go, presumably the movie is too, though I haven’t heard this firmly stated.[]It will be released between seasons three and four, but it won’t be set between seasons three and four.[]Specifically, the story I heard was pitched was about what happened on Pegasus during the initial Cylon attack.[/ul]That’s as much as I’ve heard.
Interesting, but the Pegasus sets have all been struck, according to Moore in one of his podcasts. With the shoestring budget the show seems to run on, I would expect them to use what they have.
Rumor has it that the movie is also to “feature the return of a fan-favorite character,” and James Callis has apparently said that Baltar may have a minor part in the movie. (the latter would make little sense if it were the Pegasus story)
So it is supposed to be a stand alone plot? Is it supposed to be just for fun or is there going to be any plot development for the show in general?
If it takes place around the initial Cylon attack, Baltar could appear on TV, as he did in the miniseries. Remember he was a fairly famous scientist before the attack.
As for a returning fan favorite – that implies someone who appeared on the show but no longer does. Admiral Cain? (personally I’d like to see Billy but that would be quite unlikely).
