Buffalo Beast 2008 ,50 most loathsome

To be sure…but this presupposes that you actually understand what my various stances are. The evidence on your supposed understanding of my positions however is not hopeful…

As a default position I’d say, this is a good way to look at it. If you are making the statement, then it’s highly probable that you are, indeed, wrong. I’d actually have to do some significant research if you said the sun would rise in the east, or that water was wet, even factoring in the blind squirrels and nuts theory…

Did I? And you have evidence that this was my simplistic position to back up your assertion, no? I’m not sanguine about you providing a cite by me in this instance either, since I’ve asked you to back this up in the past and you have never been able to do so. As I told you the last, oh, 6 times you brought this up, you don’t understand my position, and you don’t really understand the subject, so I’m not going to bother to attempt to beat my own thoughts on it into your thick skull yet again, nor expend the futile effort in trying to get you to understand even the fundamentals of the subject, let alone the debatable parts.

Again, did I?

Oh, there is no doubt I have a big ego. It’s ironic that you would claim that I never admit when I’m wrong, however, especially considering that on the one hand I HAVE admitted being wrong several times on this board, and on the other, you have never done so…and this, despite being in threads where nearly every poster was pretty much TELLING you that you didn’t have a clue what you were talking about. When posters from as diverse backgrounds as those in interest thread Shodan (er, SHODAN ;)) is referring too tells you that you are a clueless idiot without even in inkling of understanding of the subject, then you should, perhaps, take note and at least consider the possibility that you are speaking on a subject that you are ignorant of.

Xt ,shame on you. The fact that other posters agree with you sometimes does not make it right. When I was arguing against the bailout that Paulson proposed, most of America was terrified by the predictions of those who wanted a free hand in the US treasury. I smelled a rat. The crisis was not a sudden event. To claim he needed incredible and unprecedented powers immediately, just before a Democrat was about to be sworn in, bothered me. Because they were successful in scaring most Americans into submission does not make it correct. It still doesn’t. The election in Mass. indicated that many were troubled by the presence of Goldman types in charge of the economy. Posters said I was wrong. i was not.

gonzo, I don’t understand what you are talking about, and I’m still sure you’re wrong.

Regards,
Shodan

Shodan you are the single most one sided poster on this board. You have never conceded a point to anyone who is not a total fucktard conservative. There is no debate with you. You repeat your righty slanted crap endlessly. You have no standing to argue any one else’s viewpoint. this board is just your opportunity to show your religious like conviction and love of the conservative cause. It is not a debate forum for you.

Oh gonzo, that’s so faggy.

Regards,
Shodan

sigh It’s ‘XT’…as in Xavier Tomas. Both are capped.

Granted, it’s fairly rare for other posters to agree with me, but have you never considered that it’s vanishingly rare for anyone to agree with YOU? I mean, have you never stopped to consider that, well, there may be a reason for that? Especially considering the wide variety of political view points of those posters that disagree with you?

But your view of the situation was so ridiculous that it wasn’t even a debate position, unless one was a completely out of touch left wing loony. Even those purportedly on your side disagreed with YOUR stance…something you seemed militantly incapable of grasping.

I’m sure it did. What you failed to grasp from my own position is that I wasn’t all for it either…in fact, my ACTUAL stance, boiled down, was that while it seemed necessary to step in to ensure companies like AIG didn’t go completely tits up and take our entire economy down with it, the less government intervention into the system the better. On reflection, I’d have to say that, IMHO, what we actually should have done was let the companies in trouble fail, and taken our lumps.

YOUR position, however, basically boiled down to ‘All banks are teh EVIL! All companies are teh EVIL! All business be da EVIL! All Republicans be DA EVVVVIIIILLLL! Here iz a link!’

This isn’t a debatable position…it’s a loony assertion by someone who doesn’t even have a good grasp on the basics of comma usage, let alone the subject at hand. Your links are generally to off the wall loony lefty sites that not even the most rabid left winger on this board would think to use (or probably even read). I mean, I can see Mother Jones, say, but that Bumblebee site you seem to like is…well, not exactly a solid, reputable site, let’s say. And leaving aside the, um, quality of your linked cites, the biggest problem is that you friggin just post the stupid link, with perhaps a line or two of cryptic babble. You don’t generally bother to actually cut and paste the relevant parts from the linked cite that you want to draw attention too. You don’t generally bother to sit down and take the time to post your own views (weird as they probably are).

This OP is a perfect example…‘The 2008 Buffalo Beast,50 most loathsome people is out.’ <link> That’s it. That’s the sum total. You put zero effort into the OP…hell, you couldn’t even be bothered to actually READ YOUR OWN LINK TO FIND OUT THAT THE LIST WAS FROM 2008!!

Is that where it comes from? I did not know that.

Wrong.

Shodan

PS -

Yup, that’s where it comes from. People found it easier to say ‘XT’ than my real name, so it kind of stuck.

-XT

Yep ,it was. 2008. I was thinking of the Buffalo Beast and entered Buffalo beast 50 most loathsome 2010. The 2008 came up. I missed it. you are correct. but I figured the Beast is a fun read ,so I let it go. It weasa grievous sin and grievously have I answered for it. Oh the shame of it.

Those commas are still plaguing you, aren’t they?

As far as I can tell, they don’t affect him at all.

Shodan

Unsurprising. “Xavier Tomas” cannot be properly pronounced without a mouthful of rare vintage cognac.

A fine Cuban cigar helps too…

We’re already losing to India. Globalization for ya.

I always assumed he named himself after the Windows operating system, hoping that Bill Gates would adopt him. You know, like some people put ads on their cars?

Actually, you are probably thinking of IBM and their early XT computers (eXperimental Technology). It was pretty funny when they came out, considering my nickname.

And sure, if IBM wanted to adopt me and cut me in on some of that inheritance stuff, I’d be all for it…

Stay thirsty, my friends.
