Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel Compendiums

Every series of the Star Trek franchise (save Enterprise?) has had officially licensed compendiums written for them and, for the most part, have been very informative, giving background information on most anything you could possibly want to know and I am hoping something similar has been done for two of my new favorite shows, BtVS and AtS, but my search engine skills are rather lackluster and I’m not finding anything.

Can anyone help me out? Are there any? And if there happens to be more than one, are any held in higher regards than the others? As great as the series are to watch, I often find reading about them to be even more rewarding.

Keith Topping has written works for both Buffy and Angel. For Buffy , the title is
Slayer There are several editions covering the show, most recently is a bumper edition with all seven seasons. For Angel the title is Hollywood Vampire. The currennt editions have seasons one and four in one book and season five in another.

Also nice is Dusted:the unauthorised gude to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, by Lawrence Miles ,Paul Cornell, and Crista Dickson.

The ones I’ve browsed through are the Buffy “Watcher’s Guides,” which I found both useful and fun to read. I’ve looked at Vols 1 and 2. The third one is by a different author, and I’ve not looked at that one, but I assume it’s of similar quality.

The analagous Angel series is the “Casefiles.” Vols 1 and 2 have been published, and they cover through S4, so presumably there’s another one on the way someday.

Both the Watcher’s Guides and the Casefiles are the Mutant Enemy authorized compendia for the shows.
