Didn’t find a thread for the new episodes. Two hour premier. i find the Burn Notice crew are losing the appeal. Sigh…I was so looking forward to the fall episodes.
I had no problems with either episode. It was the usual Burn Notice hijinks: explosions, snark, and Mama Westen taking care of business.
I think perhaps adding Jesse as such a fixture was an error. I like the character, but I think he works better as an intermittent character, like Barry.
Not sure how they’ll raise the stakes any higher without tripping into completely ridiculous territory. I mean, it’s already a bit daft, but acceptable for the genre. I definitely can’t see this show lasting more than this season, perhaps another to wrap a few loose ends up. Oh well, it was an excellent run, in my opinion.

Although I think Mike went a little bit over the top with his handling of Card. He seems to be obsessed with single-handedly rooting out all corruption from the Agency. And he can’t seem to trust the Agency to handle its problems. I wonder if handling the situation with Card will ease his mind with regards to Nate’s death. I do understand why Maddy decided to leave Miami. Just as she observed Mike’s soul is being crushed, it must have been so crushing to her to be so deeply and personally involved, what with Anson manipulating her and Card lying to her and all the things she had to do for her son that must have gone against all of her values.
My favorite part:

I do like Jesse as a character. He’s grown on me and seems as much a part of the team as Sam and Fi. It wouldn’t seem right if he weren’t on every week.
