How about a cite that it wasn’t an accident.
or that he was (legally) drunk at the time of the accident?
this tag teaming thing can be fun, eh Dio?
Well, he could start a national campaign to encourage people to start taking their wedding vows seriously. He could call it… oh… how about “Marriage Protection Week”?
Didn’t his old man cheat on Babs? Wasn’t that hushed up pretty darn fast?
Bush Sr. supposedly had a mistress while he was POTUS but i can’t remember her name.
Spy Magazine did a huge expose on the alleged infidelities of Bush Sr. they supposedly went back to when he was Veep. I honestly don’t know how much of it was true, but look at Babs. Wouldn’t you have to go elsewhere? She looks like Bush Sr’s mother.
Since when is drinking and driving an accident?
Sen Kennedy kills Mary Jo while drunk, and he gets a pass from you people.
But Mrs. Bush, the First Lady of the United States, is a killer, because of a traffic accident. Right. Got it. Tools.
Asking (yet again) for demonstration of proof that Senator Kennedy was (a) driving (b) drunk while driving at the time of the accident.
and yes, Laura Bush, since she was the driver of a car that killed a man, is, in point of fact, some one who has killed. Note the absence of moral judgement on that statement. But it is true, nonetheless.
and yes, Senator Kennedy, since he was the driver of a car that **killed[b/] a young girl, is, in point of fact, some one who has killed. Note the absence of moral judgement on that statement. But it is true, nonetheless.
Can you prove that he was driving?
Can you prove that Mrs. Bush was?
sure now, how about all the proof you’ve avoided (like proving that Sen Kennedy was drunk at the time of the accident, was behind the wheel of the car etc.)
Since when is blowing stop signs an accident?
I already have. It’s in the police report as quoted in the linked article.
Kennedy admitted that he was driving (I’ll give you that one), so, in the exact same sense as Laura Bush, he is, indeed, a killer. Of course, according to milroyj, (who I’m sure was there at the time), Kennedy was driving drunk etc. and so, is more culpable than Laura Bush.
Of course, we’ve never known milroyj to let facts get in the way of his beliefs. (as in his odd view of what the word ‘killer’ means)
Yes, I recall the headlines “Poppy has a Popsie!” back around 1991 or so, followed by reports that “The Oval Office will be bringing back the guillotine unless these newspaper stories STOP RIGHT NOW.”
Pretty darned effective. I wonder why the Clinton White House didn’t try the same tack.
milroyj, are you denying the fact that Mrs. Bush ran a stop sign when the accident occured?
There certainly is speculation (with good reason) that Sen. Kennedy was intoxicated at the time of his accident. But until you provide evidence, it’s a spurious comparison.
Isn’t there a difference between an accident (resulting in death) where no laws have been broken, and one where a law was clearly broken?
(That being said, Sen. Kennedy did plead guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, which certainly lends itself to question his sobriety and the truth surrounding the incident. However, the illegal action of leaving the scene occured after the events that killed the woman, and did not in and of itself add to the death of this woman. Though again, it does make one extremely suspicious…with good reason, considering his past driving habits.)
I think the Kennedy/Laura incidents are probably pretty similar in that they both probably (and I use the qualifier “probably” only in Kennedy’s case. There is no question of negligence in Laura’s case) involved some driver negligence and they both involved fatalities. Kennedy has been villified for 20+ years over his incident while Laura’s was neatly swept under the rug and is not brought up in polite conversation.
Anyway, the Kennedy thing is a complete tu quoque. It has nothing to do with whether Laura killed someone.
So we have Sen. Kennedy leaving the scene of an accident, according to leander, a crime.
What crime has Mrs. Bush committed?
Of course, we will all conveniently forget the murder of Martha Moxley by Sen. Kennedy’s nephew, and that rape thing in Palm Beach.
Not to say that the Senator is responsible for the indiscretions of his family, (HA!), but to try and slam the President for his wife’s traffic accident is, well, dumb as a box of rocks.
So there I am, many years ago, driving along a street in the Bronx, stopped at a red light, when this girl knocks on my window. I crank it down some and she says “5$ for a blowjob?” with a big grin on her face. To which I reply, “No thank you.”
- Later, I checked my wallet and discovered I didn’t even have 5 bucks in it. At that point, I decided it was time to change jobs. I mean, one should at least make enough for a quick bit of relief on the way home from time to time, eh?
