What a load of horseshit this is, could Brit Hume suck his dick anymore?
In other news I got in a huge political argument with 3 of my closest friends, and they are all like December. I’m seriously thinking of shunning them forever.
I don’t know what you’re talking about, I find it awfully imature of you to give up on friendships because your friends aren’t in lockstep agreement with you, and you fail to prove that we are doomed.
Don’t get that channel I guess. I have the DVD anyway.
No Quinn, I’m not about to give up on my friends, just a bit disturbed to hear shit like “that’s what we do (America), we fuck people up” and “Iraq shouldn’t have flown planes into the towers” and such.
Basically the argument started when I was talking about Wes Clark, and how he might be a good guy for pres. They asked who he was, and I said he was the guy in charge of Kosovo and head of Nato and such. We then got into a disagreement, because they said that Kosovo was a cakewalk and anyone could have done the job he did. I had started talking about him saying here was a tricky situation, and we seemed to get through it ok, compared to something like IRAQ.
Next thing I knew, they were claiming that the president was just a figurehead and don’t blame him, it was in fact the American people that wanted to go to war. They’re proof of course was because we had elected him, and we knew we were going to war when we elected him.
I told them it was impossible to know the future when Bush was elected but they said matter of factly “no we wanted to go to war to get rid of Saddam, so we elected him”.
I told them they were completely out of their minds, but it pretty
much devolved from there.
The interview hasn’t aired in CA yet, but I guess I’ll have to watch it. Hume is usually a very intelligent and good interviewer, so I’ll be disapointed if this turns out to be a softball Q&A session.
Maybe FOX and MSNBC should’ve teamed up with a dual inteview by Hume and Mathews. Now that would be interesting. Nothing like a little competition to spice things up!
In the first few minutes of the Fox interview, they are exchanging some small banter about if shrub asks his father for advice. All of the sudden they stop in front of some scenic area, and Bush starts to get “serious”.
I have nothing against some Q&A with the pres, I’m just surprised that it seems far more staged then I thought it would seem.
How difficult is it to get 3 restraining orders in Brooklyn? Do you have access to chloroform? Have you any Mafia-connected relations? What is the likelihood you might find 3 new friends, more informed and intelligent, at any Star Trek convention?
Matthews is a self-proclaimed liberal and unquestionably anti-Bush. Absolutely-no-doubt-about-it. I take it you are not very familiar with him. But both guys are journalists first-- the competition would be cutthroat, not deep throat.
Mathews can pass himself off as a liberal only in the truly warped context of politics in the decade of the Zeroes. That’s a pun that’s meant, by the way, if anyone’s wondering.
