Unfounded assumptions, all of it. You have nothing to back any of that up.
Like I said earlier, irony is a dangerous weapon in untrained hands, and really only works when both speaker and audience are on the same page, so to speak - meaning the audience knows the speaker well enough to be able to differentiate sincerity from irony. Even then, shit like this falls flat on its face more often than not.
“He was just using humor to mock racism” (or more informally "Aw, he was just jokin’ ") is a weak, unsupportable, intellectually lazy excuse that allows you (and I mean you specifically, aldiboronti, not the impersonal ‘you’) to avoid serious consideration of the issue and save what pathetically underdeveloped brain cells you do possess for the quasi-Sisyphean task of making toast for breakfast.
Huh. I got curious about Stoneburg’s contributions to this board and did a little post-hunting. From the looks of it, he actually seems like a reasonable kind of guy and it appears we see eye-to-eye on a number of issues. So, for the record, I’d like to apologize for accusing him of being a Sweden Democrat.
That doesn’t change my opinion on the use of racist language in the OP for whatever purpose, however, and I still think you failed miserably in the attempt to use irony. It was uncalled for.
And aldiboronti still only has barely enough neurons to successfully manage making toast.
I think your bunched panties are cutting off the blood flow to your humor gland. And I say this as someone who thought Shodan’s “painting the White House beige” crack was insensitive and not very funny at best.
Well good for you. I happen to think overt racism, whether ironic or sincere, isn’t very funny at all. Frankly, I couldn’t give a rat’s ass what your personal level of humor tolerance is compared to mine because I don’t fucking know you from Adam and I don’t even know enough about your personal philosophies to judge whether they’re worthy of emulation or not. You’re important enough to merit this response, but not important enough to me otherwise.
So the OP never came back to clarify his cryptic OP? I don’t even care about whether he’s a racist or not, it’s just weird and incomplete as a thought so I am curious what was going on in his head.
But I’m like Jack Batty. I just don’t get it.
Is it supposed to be ironic? Then Alanis had a better grip on what irony consists of than the OP. Is it supposed to be poignant? Then perhaps a better ending than stopping before the “lesson learned” would be appropriate. Is it a joke? Because it’s not funny. And I’m not saying it’s not funny in that it’s offensive. I’m simply saying that the story wasn’t funny.
Basically, I have no earthly clue what the point of this thread was, but I can guarantee that whatever it was, the OP failed.
Are you sure? There are other, earlier clips of that show where she’s getting more and more wound up, before she explodes, while her boyfriend sitting beside her cringes.
Brendon Burns is well known for attracting angry hecklers. And he destroys them often too. I’m sure they can’t all be planted.
Seventy-three posts too late, dumbass. I’m really impressed you’re making an effort at discussion here, but honestly - stick with making toast for now. The nutrition is sure to do you and aldi worlds of good.
Mmm, nope. Accused him of being a member of a far-right racist party here in Sweden, and likened his behavior to that of a member of a British fascist organization, well before I admitted I got whooshed. And I’ve got no problem calling someone out on racist crap like that, because that’s what anti-racists ought to do, not post racist language ironically.
Since you seem to have problems keeping events in chronological order, I’ll leave you with a tip for tomorrow morning: Butter it after it pops up warm, crispy, and brown.
