Looks like grandpa’s having trouble keeping his rage consistent from one day to the next.
Would anyone give consideration to my idea that the NK situation could be solved if NK would agree to suspend their nuclear ambitions in exchange for a security guarantee from China? We have mostly peace in Europe for 75 years as a result of the NATO security agreement, for example. As we have no reason to , nor intention to, attack China, and no reason to attack NK if they quit playing with nuclear fire…why not let China guarantee their security and get the nukes off the table?
I find these tweets particularly loathsome. You don’t conduct diplomacy by tweeting. Did he seriously think the Chinese would read that first tweet and think “Hey- there’s an idea! We should put a heavy move on NK to make Donald happy!” It doesn’t work that way. You need to send your people to talk to their people to see what they can do, what they will do, and what they might want in return. You don’t tweet “Gee I’d like a pony” and expect a pony to show up.
The second tweet was even dumber, as that implied that the first tweet involved honest effort. Sitting on the White House toilet and typing out the first thing that enters your tiny little head as you push out a turd is not honest effort.
