Interesting choice of words, calling John Dean a “RAT”. Although a little hard to parse (is Trump saying the NYT considered Dean a rat? That can’t be right), it sounds like Trump believes that revealing Nixon’s involvement in the Watergate scandal was a bigger crime than the scandal itself.

I think this has been a talking point for quite some time, since both involve Russia and both were called out as witch hunts. Of course there is a nothing similar about investigating actual documented foreign influence of elections, vs destroying ordinary peoples lives based on their belonging to the wrong political party 30 years ago.
