A few days ago Trump and Pence were saying that political violence is unacceptable, but now the president is basically calling the other party ‘dangerous’.
If Trump’s followers truly agree with his statement that Democrats are ‘dangerous’, then it’s likely that at least a few of them might be inspired to commit violence.
But we’ve known that this is where we were headed for some time now. The president’s in serious legal jeopardy. He’s threatening to incite his own mob against anyone who dares to come after him, whether it’s Nancy Pelosi or the Departmenf of Justice.
What concerns me now - and I’m being dead serious - is what happens if/when the Democrats take the House. Does the president accept the results, or does he claim that there was widespread voter fraud and threaten to delegitimize the election in the eyes of 40-45% of the voting public?
Of course he will do this. Shit, he claimed it back in 2016.
All it will accomplish is to stir up his base (I hope that’s all).
Well, to be fair, he’s being held accountable for his actions for the first time in his life. Must be a terribly confusing concept.
