You do realize that that you don’t have to read asahi’s posts, right? If they bother you so much, I suggest the “ignore” function. I have made liberal use of that function lately and it helps not to even SEE comments from individuals whose posts drive you nuts. Do yourself and **asahi **a favor.
As posted on Facebook by a friend of mine (though not original to her), “you can’t spell ‘hatred’ without ‘red hat’.”
For sure, and my insomniac middle-of-the-night response there maybe showed a little rawness I didn’t quite realize I was feeling.
That said, I’m also tired of responding to people behaving badly by shutting up and ignoring them. I’m tired of abandoning spaces to the loudest and angriest.
Agreed, but I’ve also stopped engaging with the loud and angry (TLaA). Just continue to have whatever conversation one is having as if TLaA aren’t there. If TLaA bring up a point you wish to address, address the point but still pay no heed to TLaA poster. And if one wishes to mock TLaA, because it can be fun to vent oneself occasionally, do so, but ignore it if TLaA replies. I’ve noted a couple who that has frustrated, and I believe they’ve ignored me because of it (and at least one is no longer present). TLaA want an argument, but usually TLaA are not worth arguing with.
It was an insomniac night for me, too. My Fitbit tells me I had just under three hours of sleep. Blech.
Well, I see your point, but you can’t have it both ways.
For myself, I find asahi’s posts much less aggravating than the posts telling him that he’s being aggravating.
But what about the posts telling the poster telling him that he’s being aggravating that he’s being aggrivating? ![]()
Point taken (and D_Odds’s as well). I usually do a good job tuning out strangers on the internet who annoy me, but in this moment I failed in my resolve.
Anyway, hope you manage to get good rest tonight (I’m on 3 hours today also). Back to your regularly-scheduled Trump-tweet-a-ganza. ![]()
This man needs to not be POTUS any longer:
He’s just called for media people to be killed, IMO. AGAIN. This man is a danger to Americans on a very personal level and a danger to the well-being of America as a country. He needs to not be President anymore.
I like asahi and agree with him about the severe state we find ourselves in (and the frustration that I feel when I think that people don’t quite ‘get it’), but I’m finding it difficult to articulate any disagreement with this post.
Hehe. I have a choir concert in three hours… debating whether to try and take a nap. Probably not a good idea…
By all means, sleep well tonight, my friend. ![]()
Well, at least after all the horrible events of last week, the President will probably feel constrained for at least a few weeks and have to try to put some sort of . . . nah, it’s not even worth pretending:
Sometimes I almost feel pity for the flacks like Sarah Sanders who will have to try to explain this bullshit later today, and then I remember that they knew what the job was when they took it, so fuck 'em.
Well, if she didn’t know at the beginning, she certainly does now.
“Many Gang Members and some very bad people are mixed into the Caravan heading to our Southern Border. Please go back, you will not be admitted into the United States unless you go through the legal process. This is an invasion of our Country and our Military is waiting for you!”
“There is great anger in our Country caused in part by inaccurate, and even fraudulent, reporting of the news. The Fake News Media, the true Enemy of the People, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news accurately & fairly. That will do much to put out the flame…”
Huh, so now being “Harvard/Yale educated” is a good thing? When Democrats have degrees from Harvard or Yale they’re called “out-of-touch East Coast liberal elites” and so forth.
It would be funny if it weren’t so dangerous.
She doesn’t try to explain. She just feeds the bullshit. She deflects and spins and lies, only making things worse than they already are. I wish the press could just stop even showing up at her briefings. She gives them nothing of value. (Yes, I know that then only Fox and other right-wing outlets would report her “answers” but they are going to spread the bullshit anyway.)
Who said it better?
I’m automatically incensed by unnecessary capitalization, so I have to vote in favor of the guy with better hair.
Careful. The 1925 one was originally in German, in which ALL nouns are capitalized…
I’m starting to get the feeling that the Republican Base is actually allergic to consistency. They will root it out wherever they find it!
Being “Harvard/Yale educated” is a good thing when it is a dog whistle meaning “white.”
(ironic, as Harvard is now publicly defending itself for letting in too many brown/black people at the expense of Asians)
