Butt-Hurt Trump Takes to Twitter Again (Part 1)

I see your point. I guess I’ll drop that from my insult library, but I’m gonna need something extra salty for the likes of Trump and the idiots who attend his rallies.

Thanks. I, also, need something stunningly insulting to describe those scum who are so stunningly bad at being people.

So much for “fair and balanced”: they’ve been officially anointed, by order of His Majesty, the state-run news network.

Never thought through this as you have, but you are absolutely correct. Thanks for helping me fight my own ignorance.

White Trash, out

Got it!

While we’re talking about this… what about “redneck”? I have tried to remove that from my vocabulary but it pops out sometimes, and then I feel bad. Is there a deeper explanation on Why we should abandon that one? It just seems to rope in too many people by accident for my purposes.

Thanks for pointing that out for him, I get pretty uncomfortable when I hear people use that term. I always think of “day baseball game” - the only reason people say that is that by default, a baseball game is at night. The implication with “white trash” is that the regular trash isn’t white.

But we do need a term to describe the idea - people who have had no built-in obstacles to being contributing members of society but have failed to do even that.

Since the 1980s, the conservatives have made it a priority to make “liberal” seem a denunciation, especially in conjunction with the phrase “bleeding heart”.

So, how about “conservative”, using it in conjunction with… what? “Broken heart”? “Greedy?”

“Redneck” isn’t really an insult, at least where I’m from. I tell people that I’m a redneck.

I wouldn’t be in the least surprised if he called a white woman uppity.

Uppity white women are “shrill.”

But that’s not just in the South.

Ignorant.
Black heart.
Dumb ass.
Dumb fuck.
Really, anything but ‘deplorable’. They wear that nickname as a badge of honor.

At this point I can’t think of anything worse than “Trump supporter”.

This part of Individual One’s tweet removes all pretense:

Yeah, this is good. But I want to tie the “insult” to the “problem”. Since conservatives argued that caring… aka “bleeding hearts”… is what made one a liberal, and then turned actual caring for people into an insult… I wonder if we can do the same.

Reactionaries. And because there’s nothing conservative about the way they express their reactionary tendencies, “radicals.” If they want to claim that they’re conservatives, they can start behaving conservatively.

Thanks. I tend to overthink language since “language is my bag, baby”. But, in this case, I really do not believe I’ve overthought it. Even while growing up in the aforementioned racist as hell part of the country, I detested the term for the reason I’ve stated here.

The Wiki article for the term redneck is rather interesting to me. If you check the Outside the United States section, you’ll see how it was used before American English got its grip on the term.

Scum? The Wiki article for White Trash is quite illuminating, especially when it talks about the situation of poor whites during the Civil War. It should, but of course it won’t, put the rest the myth of the patriotic southerner fighting for states’ rights against northern aggressors.

Jeff Foxworthy has had a bit of a career with his usage of the term redneck. I tend to think a lot of folks don’t actually see the point of his humor. As the wiki page for redneck put it, he “cajoled listeners to evaluate their own behavior in the context of stereotypical redneck behavior”.

Come to think of it, I’d dearly love to see a cutting take on his *You Might be a Redneck If…" routine. It could start off with: “You might be a redneck if you had conniption fits when Obama got elected president”.

I’d think he’d prefer the expression, “She doesn’t know her place”.

Yep. I’ve heard that in both the South and the North. Oddly enough, I never heard that in California.

It’s amazing to me how they don’t see how wrong that is. Caring for others is supposed to be basic Christianity, yet they don’t care for those who need help, all the time they (the “conservatives”) clamor about what good Christians they (again, the “conservatives”) are. I guess they don’t care about those who need help because those folks need help thanks to the damn conservatives causing the problems the helpless ones face in the first place.

Sounds good to me. But I still like scum as the insult.

How about “shrunken heart”?

“Shrunken heads,” too, in many cases.

Generally followed by “harpy”.

Or, from some of the older crowd, “bint” or even “biddy”. Those have the advantage of beginning with “b” but are not actually considered curse words.
