Yeah, but they are highly dangerous morons. Right wing media has gotten scary in the past week, they are all dog-whistling for violence if the deep state succeeds in impeaching Trump. Daytime Fox News is pretty much doing the moderate Republican thing, the Democrats are moving too fast, no rush to judgement, let’s get the facts before we jump to conclusions, yes, it sounds bad BUT …

But Primetime Fox has gone off the deep end. But, it gets worse. There’s a new channel in town called One America News. It’s designed for people that think Fox has sold out to the liberal Fake News.

They’re really incendiary, especially when it comes to defending Trump. I also think they run LOTS of stories on minority and immigrant crime …cherry-picking cases from around the country. Now I haven’t watched it, but it sits between two channels I like so I end up seeing the headlines when I channel surf.

These “morons of the highest order” are probably going to succeed in keeping Trump in office. Because here’s what’s going to happen.

Superficially, it’s going to look like a slam dunk for the Democrats. Because this is going to get deeper and deeper. Other conversations will emerge. Financial deals between Kushner and MBS. Maybe it will come out that he congratulated MBS for killing Khashoggi. Maybe he was caught promising Putin he would extradite Bill Browder and Michael McFadden, two innocent Americans that Putin wants to torture and murder. Maybe he expressed a desire to be like Kim Jong Un. Maybe he used the “n” word while talking to a world leader. Maybe it will come out that China is giving him a personal kickback on all their new tariffs.

The dam has broken and things of the magnitude I described above are going to start happening every single day. And 30% of the population will never care, no matter how bad it gets. The hard right isn’t even going to try to defend him, the talking point will be “if he is impeached there will be mass violence. We will do anything, and I mean anything, to protect Trump from the deep state.

And the moderate Republicans, and maybe even some a Democrats, will decide not to impeach him out of fear. Then Trump will emboldened and won’t even try to hide his corruption anymore.

I hope not, but this is scary. And this was after about 5 minutes of some PrimeTime Fox News program. This could get bad.

My bolding. I agree with the fear thingy. What the fuck is it that people are so damned afraid of by calling him out? There’s hundreds of people he’s worked with/employed and I’m willing to bet 99 out of 100 could never stand him. Especially his previous investors who were essentially defrauded by him out of millions in real estate. So what is the excuse?

I’m hoping that with an impeachment trial many of these people come out or get subpoenaed if they worked for him or during his presidency. If Orangeturd is on the ropes and gets more humiliating, pleasepleaseplease let this happen. It will make impeachment, firing and arresting much more easy for those in doubt.

In terms of Trump becoming emboldened and not even trying to hide his corruption…I think we are pretty much there. He released the summary memo, to “vindicate” his “perfect” conversation. He tweeted how the Democrats were proven wrong, or something.

Either he has sunken so far into corrosion and sincerely thinks that was some sort of platonic ideal of a call between world leaders, or he doesn’t care to try and hide how awful he truly is.

Which is it? Doesn’t know, or doesn’t care?

I wish I could tell the difference, but at this point I just can’t. I’m not sure it matters. How thoroughly fucked we are is on display to those who care to look. A signicant number of Americans apparently are covering their eyes.

All of my senators and representative are all Democrat. I’ll call them anyway. I don’t want them to hear only opposition to impeachment.

Exactly. Call regardless of party, kool aid drinkage, election-year status, whatever. Even if your Congressperson is AOC, call them.

I think it’s more effective to call Republican kool aid drinkers than Dems, but since there’s only three calls each of us need to make, and the script is so short, there’s no downside to calling the impeachment supporters.

And as you said - the guys fighting impeachment are calling, so don’t let impeachment supporters think they’re fighting an unpopular battle.

What’s scary is the revelation of Trump’s true intentions. Meet his accuser? Not how the whistleblower system works, but we all know he doesn’t care, he’d tear it all down for his own benefit.

Arrest Senators for treason? On his (fucking flimsy) say so? If we lived in a world where Trump always got his way, his accusers would be literally awaiting the gallows. This is the POTUS. If he isn’t mad (as in quite, barking), how any GOP congressperson can see him as fit for office is beyond me. Treason = following the Constitution? = calling out international election interference? How Orwellian is this gonna get?

Hey how’s Trump’s wall coming along? Depending on the scenario, he could have about one more year in office. Is he still in negotiations with Mexico over payment or something? Wall progress seems to be dragging, and he promised. It looks like he might not get that done, and it was a big thing for him. I’d hate for his supporters to be disappointed, that’s my concern.

My Congressman is THE worst out of 435 - Andy Biggs. He envisions himself as Darth Maul to trump’s Sith Lord. He’s completely incapable of reason or intelligence. Calling him does no good. He’ll never go against his Master, and he never takes calls anyway. (unless you bring a check…)

I do agree with your sentiment, but we called several times over the last two years, and Andy Bigot is really the exception.

Remember the nonbinding resolution condemning ethic cleansing of the Rohingya? It was basically the literal least the US could do. The vote was 394-1. Guess who the one was.

Trump’s tweet suggesting that Schiff should be charged with treason may literally be the most horrifying thing to come out of the White House…and it’s just buried in the fire hose of news. I think it’s not getting any play strictly because we’ve grown so accustomed to nonsense from Trump’s tweets.

We have a President demonstrating that he has no freakin’ clue about the meaning of freedom of speech, or the meaning of treason - and he doesn’t care. He is literally equating criticism with treason, which is the kind of behavior that you only see in tinpot dictatorships.
