The first two sentences are absolutely fine hyperbole, if you disregard reality. “You complained about unsafe and rigged elections for years, and now you say everything this year is peachy keen?” To Trumpists, who don’t understand the the complaint has been against voter suppression and the risk of hacking from outside causing chaos, it’s a good argument. But then he goes into the truly absurd by claiming his administration has done a great job securing elections, except for not preventing the non-specific subversion the Dems did.
Although it fits nicely with the pre-election “See this chaos that is happening under my presidency? It’s going to be caused by Biden if he wins.”
So, the E-e-e-vil Democrats rigged the election so Trump lost but then didn’t go ahead and can McConnell, Graham, Collins, and a few other senators while they were at it, to say nothing about losing a few seats in the house? They must really hate Donny Two-scoops.
A decent human being would see that tweet as the threat it is and be pissed off. But it will probably work as intended and just make Kemp try harder to “fix” things.
How many people will fall for this new talking point? It’s, as far as I can tell, dumber than all the other ones in that it’s a demand that is impossible to fulfill. It’s a secret ballot election, so the signatures are no longer linkable to the ballots. Does Trump not get that? Or does he not care? And will his brainless followers fall into line and add it to their list of grievances?
