This is part of it. The current GOP, both individual members and as an organization, do not acknowledge conservatism as having existed before Ronald Reagan’s presidency. It is understandable that they would want to distance themselves from Nixon and his attempts to subvert our democracy, but it hamstrings them in lots of ways. The point is that most Trump supporters don’t have a clue about whether Trump’s alleged conduct actually matters, or is just a bunch of technicalities that Trump’s enemies are trying to pin on him.
Trump wants to create a false equivalence to Clinton so that if/when allegations are proven against Trump, his supporters will just say “meh, Clinton did it too and libtards don’t worry about that, so Trump’s misconduct is obviously not important”.

Anyone else notice that he’s now creating the same false equivalence that McCain was creating? Hillary’s email investigation never had anything to do with the Russia investigation. Two separate things. If Hillary did collude with Russia to interfere with the US election last year, then we should absolutely investigate that. Looking at where we are and who ended up winning, it doesn’t seem likely.

There are a number of memes, etc making rounds about how Obama had a ‘red phone’ to talk to russia (that he left behind) - the uranium deal with russia, etc and how that ‘they’ were able to talk to russia. There’s also a few that make the claim that Hillary’s team also had some contact with Russia during the eliection cycle.
People making this shit up (or those that buy it) really can’t quite see the difference in the two sets of activities.
If trumpster fire wants us to investigate Hillary so bad, I have a plan. He can trade places with her, and while she’s president, they can investigate the living daylights out of her. It’s what would have happened anyway. But at least the US wouldn’t look like fools.
I really think that Trump and the republican party spend all of their energy in projection. It seems to me that each and every thing they accuse liberals and democrats of doing is something they themselves do, will do, or have done.
What puzzles me is that they “accuse” liberals and Democrats, so does that mean they realize it’s wrong? Or are they completely oblivious?
H.Clinton seems to be a particular favorite for projecting on, although Obama was given his share as well.
I have a better plan - Trump can contact the President and request that he ask the Attorney General to instruct the DOJ to investigate possible collusion and obstruction charges against Hillary.
