Sigh. That doesn’t surprise me.
This question is asked on Reddit almost daily. Sometimes more often. Keep an eye on the front page of the political subreddits and you will see it soon enough.
As you suspected, the threads seldom go anywhere because the usual attitude is one of hostility and avoidance.
A common theme in the (very few) responsive answers I have seen is that Trump would lose their support if he stopped making the liberals scream. This fits well with one of the seemingly well-supported research findings on current politics, namely that there is an assymetry between left and right by which the latter are signficantly motivated by wanting to make the former unhappy. If this is correct it is ironic that the more Trump does stupid shit that upsets people (other than his supporters) the more his base loves him.
I have seen Trump supporters say that they would withdraw support if he liberalised his policies in any way. But at least on the one occasion I have seen a Trump supporter clarify or expand on this, the main indicator they would use to determine if he had become overly liberal was if liberals became less hostile to his policies. So it really came back to the same thing.
Any time I have attempted to gain any particulars or details of the above views have been met with silence or abject hostility, no matter how hard I try to seem neutral or just generally interested.
Do you have cites for this, especially the bolded part?
Based on the fact he’s tweeted half a dozen times (almost exclusively about how he’s an innocent victim of the media), since the tragic news came out, it seems that he prefers sailors who don’t drown
Clothahump.
Mitch McConell saying the main goal of the gop is to make Obama a one term president. Fucking turtle faced douche.
Nothing about what he wanted the gop to actually do good for Americans, just the dems can’t be allowed to do anything.
Why wouldn’t he boast, that’s more than he got on popular vote.
So his popularity is up.
Also Okrahoma, and various other trolls many whom have since been banned.
In their defense however, they really don’t have anything else to point to. He’s their guy so they’ve got to support him, but unfortunately he hasn’t actually succeeded in anything. So they are left with they point to the one bright spot in his presidency. They can point and laugh as their enemies flounder in their rapidly sinking boat, and put off the realization that we are all in the same boat together.
Not just that a democrat can’t be allowed to achieve anything. But a black democrat? To McConnell, one of those two things is bad enough. Either black or democrat. But god forbid someone who is BOTH try to accomplish anything.
I live in Louisville. I have to hear about stupid fucknuts like him and Bevin on an almost-hourly basis.
I think congressional Republicans are hoping he’ll do a good job of signing whatever they put in front of him. Trump likes to make a show of that when he isn’t watching TV, playing golf, or tweeting.
That’s exactly the type of stuff my Trump-supporting friends were posting: “word salad of Hitlery/Benghazi/Email nonsense”.
That was the first time I saw “Hitlery”. I guess that’s a common description on Breitbart and Infowars.
How is that praying the crime away thing working?
Not just a black democrat, but an **uppity **black democrat. Not someone appropriately humble, but a good-looking guy who went to HARVARD, and married a woman who also went to HARVARD.
Ah, law school doesn’t count, in terms of Bright College Years nostalgia. I betcha that when Ivy League football season rolls around, Barry and Michelle root for Columbia and Princeton (respectively) against Harvard.
Hmmm. I see McConnell earned his BA at the University of Louisville, and his law degree at the Univeristy of Kentucky.
Yep. Those two uppity nigras must have been EATING AT HIS HEART for a full eight years.
I think you missed “good looking, classy” before “woman”.
About as well as can be expected. This IS the state with the Creation Museum, after all. And Ken Ham has said that his next project is to build the Tower of Babel to go along with the lifesize Ark. And he wants us to pay for it, like we did with the museum and Ark. And with Matt Bevin in charge of Kentucky, I’m sure he’ll succeed in funneling tax money to pay for a blatant attempt to further blur the line between church and state.
By the way, if Russia was working so hard on the 2016 Election, it all took place during the Obama Admin. Why didn’t they stop them?
Now it’s back to blaming Obama. Thanks, Obama!!! :smack:
Reminds me of an Investigation Discovery show the other night. “I Am Homicide”: the detective is looking for a murder suspect who turns out to be part of a very religious family. Who saw the victim’s body before calling the police and try praying for their relative rather than turn him over ASAP.
While Trump was screaming about “rigged elections,” Obama should have started an investigation into Russian collusion with Republicans? Oh, yeah, THAT would have gone over real well.
About those White House tapes? JK LOL U MAD COMEY?
