I gave up alcohol for Lent. But, I’ve been buying beer during a couple of good sales, along with getting some of the non alcoholic type to drink for right now.
I’d like to stock up even more now as I hope like hell I have a regular summer and have lots of people over. Will beer bought today still be decent by July-August? I’m buying mostly Heineken, Amstel Light, Dos Equis, etc. Decent enough beer to serve without breaking the bank.
If there are new Covid restrictions imposed and summer sucks, well, I’ll have no problems getting rid of that beer as I’ll be cracking them myself
Despite the big marketing thing a few years back where many beers prominently advertised their “freshness dates”, I think middlebrow lager-style beers like the ones you mention should be perfectly fine for many months if kept refrigerated and away from UV light exposure.
And if you do experience any skunkiness from longer storage, I’m not picky- I’ll come by and help you dispose of it if you wish.
