Yep, Benedict Cumberbatch will be playing the Master of the Mystic Arts, Dr. Strange in the third wave of Marvel movies.
I have hopes that this will lead to an eventual Defenders movie. We’ve already got a Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and now a Strange. Get Zachary Quinto to play the Sub-Mariner and Angelina Jolie to play the Valkyrie and pit them against a CGI Headmen.

Also, I’m afraid Universal currently hold the rights to Namor, so he won’t be turning up in any Marvel Studios projects any time soon.

Although I luv Cumberbatch, I was holding out for the Jon Hamm rumors. I suspect Cumberbatch will end up with a rather weedy goatee*, alas.
Hm. Squirrel Girl is a mutant, isn’t she? Rights may be unclear; Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are mutants associated with the Avengers, but Marvel apparently only gets to use 'em because they’re called out in the contract that sold off the mutant rights…
But, hey, maybe she’ll show up in Age of Apocalypse.
