Which movies feature Dr. Strange?

I own “Doctor Strange” and I just saw “Thor: Ragnarok” which features a cameo by Dr. Strange.
Are there any others?

I know he and Spiderman have lots of adventures together (at least in the comic books) but the 2 Spiderman movies I’ve seen were pretty meh and don’t feature Dr. Strange (at least not that I remember).

Thanks!

In the MCU that’s it so far. He’s reportedly going to be in the next Avengers movie in May.

Just those two, so far. He’s going to be in Infinity War, next.

If you saw two Spider-Man movies with the same Spider-Man, you didn’t see the one in the MCU, so Strange couldn’t have appeared (long story, concerning rights from before Marvel had its own studio, and later negotiations)…but he didn’t appear in Homecoming, which is the Spider-Man movie that shares a universe with Strange.

None. He’s only been in the two.

Well, there was a TV movie in 1978, but that’s not related to any of the current Marvel movies, and by all accounts, was pretty dire.

FWIW, of the Spiderman movies, only the most recent (Spiderman: Homecoming) is part of the “Marvel Universe.” The previous movies with Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire aren’t part of this continuity.

According to this, Cumberbatch will reprise his role in Avengers: Infinity War. That and the aforementioned two films are the only ones he’s appeared in so far in the MCU.

ETA: Ninja’d multiple times!

He was also mentioned by name in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but didn’t appear. That was before his magical training, so presumably he was significant only for his skill at surgery.

Apparently there are also rumors of a sequel to Dr Strange (other than the upcoming Avengers movie).

I liked it. Then again I was ten years old, a Doctor Strange comic fan and not terribly discriminating ;). Re-reading the Silver Age DS comics several years back made me wince a little. The artwork is still cool, but the dialogue…ugh. By the hoary hosts of Hoggoth indeed.

I mean, it did well, so a sequel was inevitable.

I sorta felt that the movie was largely a setup for a sequel (or probably many sequels) anyway. “Here, let’s get all this backstory and exposition out of the way so we can get to work on the franchise!”

Not so dire, but certainly not good. Jessica Walter is excellent playing “Morgan LeFay.” Unfortunately, the dude playing the doc and his '70s porn 'stache are awful. And they of course whitewashed the Ancient One by casting Brit John Mills (to say nothing of Hawaiian Clyde Kusatsu as Wong). Perhaps best of all is a brief stop motion appearance of Dormammu (though that name is not used in the film):

At least there was no Stan Lee cameo…

No need for rumours, every “solo” character has a trilogy planned.

Iron Man has had three.
Captain America has had three.
Thor has had three.
Avengers has had two so far, and there will be a third in 2018 (and a fourth in 2019, but that was an unexpected change in plan)
Guardians of the Galaxy has had two, a third is scheduled for 2020.
Ant-Man has had one, a second is in post-production for 2018, a third not yet scheduled.
Doctor Strange has had one, a second is likely for 2020.
Spider-Man has had one, a second is scheduled for 2019.
Black Panther’s first is out in February.
Captain Marvel’s first is scheduled for 2019.

All those who have had one so far are expected to have a second and third, which will be dates like 2020 and 2021. By that time even more characters and teams will be in the planning and execution stages. At this stage it’s an ongoing endless three-Marvel-movies-per-year schedule for the foreseeable future.

They also made a joke about him in the non-MCU Spiderman 2, as a possible name for Doc Ock.

I sort of wonder when the actor backlashes will start. Taking a role as the lead hero in a Marvel film is a lot of money, but it’s also turning out to be a minimum ten year commitment to playing the same character. I think we’ll see some people doing a Daniel Craig (formerly a Leonard Nimoy) on the MCU soon.

Hasn’t Dr Strange appeared in one or two MCU stingers?

Just his own. There’s only been three movies since Dr Strange:
Guardians of the Galaxy 2
Spiderman: Homecoming
Thor: Ragnarok

Thanks. I wondered if he’d been teased in s stinger of an earlier film.

Doctor Mordrid, Master of the Unknown purported started out as a Doctor Strange movie, but ran into legal problems (the production company’s option ran out) and was “re-branded”.
