Cabin fever in the MMP

So yesterday’s project at the hotel did not go well. I met with the manager to go over the scope of work and she told me that two thirds of the rooms were in a mandatory 72 hour waiting period before anyone is allowed in. She also told me that one of the rooms had five more days to go on the 14 day quarantine due to the last guest who was tested positive and taken to the local hospital. While we were talking about this a young couple with two children got off the elevator and went out to their car and then came back in. I made a call to boss in jammies and told him that we would need to reschedule this one.

I’m afraid the soup recipe lost me at cilantro. But it did inspire me to look on line for other carrot-onion soup recipes, and I saw a couple that I think my fambly might like. Except for SIL - he doesn’t like carrots much. He’s a pretty picky eater. Glad his daughter isn’t.

**MetalMouse **- you invaded my dream last night. Your boss (?) was trying to have me convince my boss (?) to hire you. And I wasn’t to let you know that he was trying to get rid of you. Yeah, I dunno…

We’re promised more rain late today into tonight. I’m going to try to do a bit more de-leafing. Rain-soaked leaves are a booger to rake up. So we’ll see how that goes.

I spoke to our neighbor last night about the tree that fell from our yard, crushed the fence, and barely missed his big trailer. I wanted to make sure he didn’t mind us coming into his yard to cut it up. But he said he was planning to cut it up himself. He’s a nice kid.

Roxy just got up - her first action upon coming to the living room is to hand the TV remote to whoever is closest. I just turn on Maryland Public TV - she’s watching Arthur right now, but she’ll want breakfast soon.

Thus beginneth the day. Happy Last Day of March!!

Hmmmm…and we’re both retired people…don’t plan on getting hired by anyone anytime soon. But thanks for thinking about me…and have fun raking up leaves.

No this is a basic burger fast food chain, mostly in Alabama and Georgia, none up close to you.

As far as the foodie stuff goes, even a non-cook could handle this one.
[/QUOTE]

You severely underestimate my lack of cooking skills…:cool::wink:

It’s 48F this morning and raining, only going to 53F today, but rain should stop in about a couple of hours. Need to make a braunsweiger run but that’s the only trip outside for today.

Hippy, so you needed to go in all the rooms but can’t because of the quarantine, right? Lovely.

Speaking of Quarantine, hope you get released on-time and without any sign of this nasty old virus, Nettie. And our garbage folks pick up our container with a metal clamp that lifts the whole thing and dumps it, so no hands on the handle but mine.

Everybody take care

It’s a rainy morning in middle Tennessee and promises to be for the rest of the day. Nelson wasn’t crazy about going outside this morning and I turned the heat back on. I’m just glad that I got the patio / yard done yesterday.

Today, the task list has cleaning the bedroom closet out and going through my dresser. Before all of this is over, my backseat and trunk will be full of stuff for Goodwill or AmVets. I may just put it in the drop boxes that aren’t attended.

Our governor issued safer at home guidelines. A lot of urban and suburban counties already have much stricter rules enacted. I can see this thing really hitting the rural areas later and harder than what it is now. That’s even sadder here, as we’ve been hemorrhaging rural hospitals in the last few years (it’s not uncommon to be a couple of hours away from a hospital bed in some parts of Tennessee :frowning: ).

Y’all stay safe and healthy!

Don’t have a license. Anyway, jumping off the pier would be dangerous. The water was only a couple of feet deep.

I’m about to start a major project today, the laundry. Everything at once, all the sheets, the comforter, blanket, dirty clothes, throw covers, everything. It will have to be at the laundrymat, at my mom’s washer isn’t big enough for a couple items. Hope it doesn’t take forever.

SSDD. I’m still coming to irk because my micromanager boss can’t say yes or no to me irking at home. I’ve asked her 3 times and her reply is always the same “what library needs do we have at this time?” I still don’t know what she is asking. I left her a voicemail yesterday saying we need to talk as opposed to email. No callback yet. I give up. Saw Ariel last night and the stitches look fine. She rolled in the mud so I got to clean her which she doesn’t like. I always tell her “hey, it’s not MY fault YOU are dirty.”

Afternoon. Another day in the chicken coop. I did manage to get up at an almost reasonable time today, which was good.

Still chipping slowly away at skool irk.

The most exciting part of the day so far has been putting out the rubbish. If I didn’t have so many houseplants to talk to, I’d be going completely insane by now.

Happy Toosday!

Kind of cloudy outside, but the sun does peek out every now and again.
I’m cold after sitting out there from 7 to 9:30. Lily came by this morning.
I left it up to them if they wanted to come or not. Lily lives close enough though that she could be walked here.

Poor Lily’s mom, she is a supervisor and she had to listen to the entirety of not only Hogan’s speech, but the governor’s of WV too. Good thing PA’s governor wasn’t talking or she would have had to listen to him too.
She has to take notes so she can make the appropriate changes and report what is going on to upper management.
She felt about it like I did, just get to the damn point.
The company she irks for is considered essential, and they have been very very busy, lots of overtime for anybody who wants it.
You’d think upper management could do their own listening and tell her what to do.

We have to go get groceries today. I hope that this is the last time for at least another two weeks.
I forgot one thing, but I can live without it, and can probably get it cheaper from da jungle.
I have to call BestBuy today, they are charging me interest on the computer I bought. The credit card is supposed to be 0% interest.
I need to call my mortgage company too. I wanted to refinance, but that isn’t going to happen with my paychecks the way they are. However, maybe there is a way I can get the PMI dropped from my payments.

I don’t know, too much to think about right now.
I want to get the shed fixed, among other things, but I’m afraid to spend money right now.

Mrs. L.A. woke me up before 0200 this morning. She said she smelled gas. (We have a propane furnace.) I turned off the valve inside, and then I smelled gas. I’m guessing I was smelling the residual gas that hadn’t made it to the burner yet. I’ll have to find someone to come out to look at it. Maybe I’ll call the propane company. If they can’t come out, maybe they know someone who can. With the business shut-down, I hope someone can find a leak, if there is one.

In the meantime, I’ve put one of those radiator-style space heaters in the living room. I also chopped some wood a couple of weeks ago.

Liquid dish soap smeared on gas connections will bubble to show a leak.

WetOne, my horse that I had years ago was black. I kept him at a farm that was about 450 acres, that was divided into roughtly 5 fields. There was about 75 horses boarded there.
Two of the fields weren’t so big, pretty easy to find your horse. One was huge but fairly open, a lot of walking, but still easy to find the horse. Then there were the two fields from hell.
One was an old apple orchard. Not so big, but very overgrown. Your horse could be 5 feet away from you and hidden behind all the brush and trees. Beyond the orchard was the back field, hilly with patches of wooded areas throughout. Hell to find your horse out there, even worse when part of the fence came down between that field and the orchard. My horse could also be a bit of a butt sometimes. Somedays he would see me coming and come to greet me, most of the time he’d stand and wait for me to come up to him, and sometimes he would see me coming and position himself behind a tree where I couldn’t see him. Except he was a little too fat to fit behind a tree, and he would also have to peek out to see where I was and since he had a big white flame on his forehead I’d see him.
One day though I couldn’t find him in the back field. I walked and walked and walked. I circled around all the patches of wooded areas, turned around and went the other way in case he had moved and was behind me. I was getting close to tears wondering where he was and if he was okay.
The whole time though, I saw this new app in the field, light brown with black spots in his ass. Finally, he picked up his head and looked at me and it was my horse. He was totally caked in dried mud, from head to tail, except for a few spots on his rump. Some friends later told me they too had wondered who the new horse belonged to, then when they got closer they realized it was mine.
They thought he looked cute, I was not amused.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. It’s cold and dreary, but the rain hasn’t started yet. Between The Invisible Mole People and all the [del]unclean[/del]neighbors being home and walking their dogs, Gordie is in a constant state of losing his skittles.

It’s gonna be like a Josh segment on Moonshiners.

Flyboy,

WetOne, glad you got to see the mud mare.

Nut, it’s only a worry when the houseplants start talking back.

Well, Instacart says they found everything except the specific salad mix, but found a good substitute. Let’s see if it reaches me promptly.

I know, everyone’s getting tired of my grocery woes. So am I.

**sari **- it’s my understanding that once you have at least 20% equity in your house, you can request the PMI be dropped, and if you have 22%, they’re required to drop it. That’s based on the appraised value. Good luck!

Just spent nearly 90 minutes on the garden by the front porch - I’m about 1/3 of the way done clearing it. LOTS of leaves! But I cleared around the azaleas so I could feed them, then I did the same with the azaleas at the end of the driveway. I may go out again later, but for now, I’m having leftover chicken fried rice.

Supper tonight will be lasagna roll-ups, assuming the cheese hasn’t gone weird. If it has, we’ll have sketties. Either way, the sack of sauce has thawed.

Time for a little chillage.

Might have to try that.

Mrs. L.A. asked me to light up the furnace, so I did. I asked her if she still smelled gas. She said she smelled the space heater (which is dusty).

Much to my relief, Instacart appears to be back up to their customary service level. Everything arrived promptly. There was a substitution on the salad, but that’s fine.

I’ll still be happy this weekend when I can handle my own supply needs, though.

flyboy, I’d make the expected inappropriate joke here about gas, but a gas leak in the house is nothing to joke about. Hope the repair people can find and fix it.

wet one, keep after management and make them make up their mind,so you know one way or another. And glad Ariel seems to be no worse for wear from the injury (dirty, perhaps, but not hurting)

Cupcakes, that’s how I do laundry, 4-5 loads over a day (of course, there’s just me, so probably a longer interval than thou.

Nettie, yea on Instacart.

Shopping run done and rain has gone from N. Ali-bama, but like red, I’ve turned the heat back on…53F now. Need to sweep my office room, been in here most of the days and it’s gotten a bit…lived in…

All y’all take care.

Lunch has been et and it’s still raining. I [del]played[/del] worked in the studio this morning and will work on the closet and dresser this afternoon, as well as on the MS course.

Time to get to work. :stuck_out_tongue:

1116, and I’m finally eating something; a Landjäger.

I spent most of the morning on hold with BofA. My sister sent me a letter from the State of California informing my late mother, who died in 2005, of unclaimed property. We’ve tried to get her IRA before, but BofA says they need a ‘letter of testamentary’. Letters of testamentaries come from probate. The State of Arizona (my mom’s last residence) requires certified copies of the will. I tried to contact the attorney that drew up the wills (and trust) in 2000 to get certified copies. He didn’t return my calls the last couple of years. When I did talk to him a few years ago, he said he doesn’t have records that far back. No records, no certified copies. No certified copies, no probate. No probate, no letter of testamentary. sigh

I’ve been assigned a case number with BofA, and I sent them the .pdf copies of the wills, death certificates, and trust. I told them the situation, and ‘swore, attest, and certify’ that they are true copies. We’ll see what happens. If they can’t resolve this, then the funds (a very small amount) will be turned over to the State of California and I can try to get it from them.
