Cabin fever in the MMP

Once again, no low-carb bread. :frowning:

Happy anniversary to Chefguy and Mrs Chef!

Twenty-seven years? You are practically newlyweds! May you be blessed with many many more years together!
~VOW

I found another item I needed picked over or just not available. That is Vitamin C. None at the pharmacy nor any at the grocery store. I just went ahead and got a bottle of multi vitamins with C in them. Vitamins ain’t cheap. I picked up some chicken. No paper products at all there either. I could use some paper towels but I think there are still five rolls here. I would hope that eventually the TP and PT will resurface.

Our governor told everyone to stay home starting at midnight tomorrow night. I went to irk this morning and finished up FOM stuff. I brought home my official irk computer so I can get into the system that houses all our online training. But that is for tomorrow. I am done for today.

Y’all be safe and stay healthy.

Ran a load in the dishwasher and made a cuke-onion salad. I think I may cook up a pack of mac-n-cheese to go with the various leftovers we’ll have for supper. I intend to empty the fridge of most of the small containers.

I’m thinking I’ll make a cottage pie for supper tomorrow. And I’d like to go to Aldi and see if they’ve got ribs - I kinda got a hankerin’. There was only 1 package in Food Lion, and that won’t feed 5 people. I’d love to get a nice chuck roast, but beef of any description is difficult to come by. People around here are still nuts.

 But I’m vegetarian…

Silly woman!

So much for doing any yard work today. Maybe tomorrow.

Afternoon all. And happy Anniversary Cookie. May you stay as happy another 27 years (of course, assuming you were happy the first 27…:p:D)
FCM, Publix has some Kleenex available, but nothing else on the shelves of Kroger and Walmart. Glad swampy taught me to [del]hoard[/del] keep a decent supply on hand. But there is still a fair amount of beef around the area; couldn’t say why.

Nappage completed, first one I’ve taken in a couple weeks, so we’ll see if that messes up my sleep schedule. Beautiful day outside, would be coaching kid’s soccer now if this was a normal spring. Such is life.

Everyone take care.

Leftovers have been cleared from the fridge - HUZZAH!!! The only thing that went back into the fridge was the cuke salad, but that wasn’t a leftover, so it’s OK.

Just set up with a new HVAC company to do our maintenance - the tech will be here tomorrow, probably afternoon. That’s one more thing off my list.

Evening chillage ahead.

Happy anniversary Cookie and Mrs.Cookie!

Mooooooom, I got a chuck steak at the Pubic Sto’ Monday that I’ll cut up to use in chili this weekend.

All of the FoM reports are out. The old bat caught me on the way in (she was supposed to be outta there) and told me that she was taking PTO next week. When I had the afternoon Zoom meeting with the boss and grandboss (and the boss’ cutie pie of a boxer), they said that she was all freaked out about being in a high risk group. Shoot, all but about four of us in my department are and three of them have small children or old people in their homes. I’ll have a Zoom again on Monday (when technically, I’m on call) and we’ll see what the schedule is from there. I think that leadership may try to nudge the old bat into retirement if she’s not careful.

Nelson was glad to see me come home, even though I was only gone 4.5 hours. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice pretty day here. Grandwreks played in the sandbox all afternoon. I sat on the deck and watched them and all the doggies.
I slept awhile and woke up with headache. It’s passed on.
Mid-daughter has been busy. She has really done a great job taking care of so much.

My cat’s have settled into a sort of ceasefire with the dogs. They walk big circles around each other.
The lil’wrekker is stir crazy. Her papers are written for classes. She will soon take exams and be done for the year. I don’t know what She’ll do after that. She keeps coming to me with stuff(mostly clothes) she wants to order online. So far I’ve succeeded in talking her out of most of it. Girl’s nuts. Who needs new clothes if you can’t go anywhere?

Big Wrek is making work for himself. He’s cleaning the barn this week.

We’re doing okay.
Y’all be safe and well.

April Fools was… well, it’s done, anyway. It generated less traffic than last year’s, but quite a few people have told me they loved it. I guess most of the big companies who usually do April Fools are skipping it this year because of Corona, but… I mean, I figure we’re all kind of helplessly stuck and a little bit of silliness and normalcy is sort of what we need right now.

Here it is: a photoshopped sign that says “[shelter name] Home for Inconvenient Humans”
Have you been wondering what we’re planning to do with the property at the end of [our road]? Well, here it is! We find that often, the reason people have to give up their animals (or can’t adopt another) is that there’s some human getting in the way. That’s why we’ve decided to open [Shelter Name] Home for Inconvenient Humans! Have you walked into our shelter, petted a cat, and said, “I’d love to adopt you, but my husband would divorce me”? Well go ahead and divorce him! Leave him to us and take a cat or two or thirty. Are you facing the prospect of having to give your dog up because your daughter is allergic? Send that inconvenient kid our way! We take spouses, children, even grandmas and grandpas!
We’ll take anyone that stands between you and your animal. Your manager at work won’t let you bring your cat with you because “you work in a kitchen” and “it’s incredibly dangerous, not to mention against health code”? Pfft. Drop that manager off at our door and fill that kitchen with kittens! every day is take your pet to work day! Roommate doesn’t like that you brought a miniature cow into the house because “it sheds a lot” and she’s “pretty sure it’s illegal” and “you’ve already brought six cows into the house my god Lisa where are we even going to sleep with all these indoor cows?” Get rid of that roommate! We’ll take her! Live happily ever after with your indoor cattle! Get a peacock and some ducks!
[shelter name] has always been about providing valuable services that keep people and their interspecies family members together, whether it’s through low-cost spay/neuter, our food pantry, or our many other services. We hope this new step on our journey will be helpful to a lot of people! In fact, since word has gotten out, we’ve already had a few drop-offs. Check out this album to see what we’ve got available!

And then the album has a few stock photos- a girlfriend who wasn’t really a “cat person,” a baby whose person decided they wouldn’t have time for the dog with the new baby around (but the dog was there first), a landlord who was imposing arbitrary rules (“Cats had to be declawed and shaved, dogs could be no more than thirteen and a half inches tall, no chihuahuas because they’re an aggressive breed (okay, that one’s sort of fair), and nothing with any black or tan on it because rottweilers are black and tan and he once saw a mean one in a movie. Pet rent was paid per color, so calico cats were exorbitantly expensive.”), a preschooler whose mom bought him a puppy, but he wasn’t taking care of the dog, so he had to go because he also wasn’t getting a job to support the family… and Santa Claus, who was bitten after coming down the chimney uninvited and is now taking classes on how to be safe around strange dogs (“He’s a senior, but he’s literally magical, so don’t pass this guy up!”).

So that was April Fools.

I’m looking for a distraction now. I guess I can try Tiger King again.

Another day. I made baked fried chicken, cheesy corn bread, and green beans with ham and garlic for dinner.

I’m gonna spend Easter Sunday like the Apostles did. Locked in a room with a couple of amphoras of wine.

Happy Anniversary Chefguy and Chefgirl!

Dots, that place should exist.

Howdy Y’all! I braved the Pubic Sto’ which was again surprisin’ly well-stocked. No tp, of course, and sparse on the paper towels, neither of which I needed so I did not care. I scored two nice hunks of beast, a poke roast, two slabs of ribs, and ground beast. We’re fine on chikin at da cave so did not get any, but they had a good bit of that as well. We had boxed lasagna (don’t judge!), sallit, and cheesey garlic bread for sup. Oh and I scored nanners, apples, and grapes, our three fav-o-rite fruits. I went around eight this mornin’ and 'twas not crowded at all. Didn’t even have to wait to check out!

Cookie and Mrs. Cookie Happy Anniversary!

Dots sounds like a fun April Fool’s prank. You get a gold star for creativity!

Butters I got two bottles of Vitamin C at the dolla’ sto’ last week. I now have three unopened bottles. Guess that makes me a Vitamin C hoarder.

I grilled some Kroger shaved beef steak to make sandwiches. It tasted freezer burned. I had hope for Beck’s steak-ems. The dogs liked it, but they like cat poop.

I’m supposedly working at home. I went to work at 9:00, and ended up fixing things people had broken until 4:00. “Working from home”. Ha!

You sure you didn’t sneak off to Tunica? :stuck_out_tongue:

My rheumatologist said that the vitamin C thing was a mistake by Linus Pauling. Apparently he was a hell of a physicist, but not a good physician or chemist.

Carni aka as…um?..I forgot your MMP name…*-sorry about your shaved beef. Try un-shaven beef next time. It’s a bit hairy, (ba dump bump)…

***Flytrap **

And when my beef grows a beard. I toss it.:stuck_out_tongue:

Got two 6 packs of paper towels delivered today from an online purchase. Best anniversary present ever!

Yes, Flytrap…thx.

So, Cookie, y’all got hitched on April fools day? Nice!
