Cabin fever in the MMP

LOL

And for what it is worth, I think dog parks are essential.

From what I understand, the state park near here is still open and I think dogs are allowed off leash at the beach this time of year.
I’ll have to check out the national one near here too. I’m pretty sure they can’t go off leash there.
I would trust Ripple off leash, Echo, I don’t think so.

I sat outside with them for a litte while, but the wind made it a bit too chilly.

Got many packages from da jungle today. All my subscription stuff is coming in, including tp, which I didn’t know was coming this month until it was too late to cancel it. I’m surprised we got it, I thought it was sold out.
The dogs favorite treats came today too, which made them very happy.

Pork chops for dinner.

I was just thinking the other day Butters, that mail carriers are exposed to a lot of people. Who knows what they could catch and spread.

Poor Gordie. :frowning:

sari, they’re starting to shut down National Parks now too, given that people got stupid and packed them.

We are now in official Stay at Home mode. I may need my essential services email tomorrow. Locally, they’re setting the Music City Center up as a makeshift hospital for Covid19 patients. Tis a weird, weird world.

Today at irk, it was a light day. Tomorrow, I’m going to do coursework in MS if it doesn’t pick up. With our volume down, there isn’t as much movement in the plant or warehouse, therefore not as many inventory issues. We’re considered essential because we insure cell phones, tablets, laptops and medical devices. Right now, there are a lot of folks who need those devices to work, do schoolwork from home, order groceries, etc, not to mention the medical stuff. We kit and ship those things.

Howdy Y’all! I got the ick outta the cee-mint pond, let the cleaner thingy run for a while, and dumped in some salt. ‘Tis lookin’ much better. Tomorrow we shall accomplish mowage which we should have already done this week, but didn’t. We have decided to order catfish filets from the local good seafood/fish place for tomorrow’s sup. We shall feast upon catfish filets, slaw, fries, and hushpuppies. YUM! If all this had not happened, we would have been involved in a fish fry over to the church house tomorrow. :frowning:

The back postage stamp needs to be mowed, I think the front is okay for a while.
My azalea is blooming, very pretty, but wasted on me as I seldom go out front.

The birds are trying to build a nest over the front door again.
I’m hoping all the activity with packages being delivered scared them off.

I’m debating going back to the store. My son had less cereal than he thought, and we have a gallon of milk. He won’t drink it, just puts it on his cereal.
This is so stupid, it reminds me of the gas lines, where you’d burn up half a tank of gas trying to get gas.
I’m going to the store more often because I can’t get everything I need when I do go.

Shrimp and grits was very good for my first time. Way better than what the neighbors brought over a few times. Quick and easy. Will be making that regularly. I really did appreciate our neighbors feeding us. They are good peeps.

Hubs is not feeling well and admitted to me that he is down in the dumps. The inability to leave the house is killing him. Maybe tomorrow we will take a car ride just for the hell of it. I don’t know how we will manage months of this. I was sent a letter from irk that was written by Bill Barr to his state attorney’s to present so that federal employees may have safe passage. I was told I should print it and put it into my glove compartment. I came very close to writing the acting director back and telling him I had no room because of my gloves taking up too much space. I should have. This guy has no sense of humor. He sent a mail the other day that said “ I will not be the department head with an infected idiot prancing around town spreading this disease”.

Crazy world indeed.

That is an amusing story! Having an event, like a wedding, birthday, whatever, on a day that stands out, can be fun. I’m told my father was extremely pleased I was born before midnight, on 12/31. I was Daddy’s little tax deduction.

Morning, mumpers! Happy Friday

I am getting my day off to a good start - last night my favourite singer in the entire world did a 2hr acoustic performance on FB Live from his living room in Spain. It’s on ewetoob now, so I am re-watching. He got an audience of over 700 people from around the world (an increase on the 650 who watched the first performance last week) and he’s most likely going to do another one next week too. That makes me a very happy person.

I am at irk still, but doing it from home, not a huge amount going on at the moment as we’re waiting for the University to make some big decisions about how our final year students are going to graduate, and how we’re going to progress our other students. That means we’re going to have a lot of work at the beginning of next week so that’ll be something to look forward to.

But it’s Friday, and that means it’s nearly the weekend…and I have a virtual music festival to look forward to tomorrow

Good morning all and happy Friday. Today is just a slight movement towards normality. For fifteen years I have had a standing service call at a large office building at 6.00 on Friday morning. The pumps that provide water pressure for the fire sprinklers in high rise office buildings need to be periodically exercised to keep the bearings lubricated. We run each pump for half an hour and need to be finished by start of business. Three weeks ago I got a text at 1.20am cancelling the testing until further notice. There had been a Corona positive worker discovered and they emptied the building out. Yesterday the decision was made to resume testing.

It’s a baby step, but a step nin the less

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 47 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 80 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. No big plans for the day. I shall go through all the drawers in the master bedroom today and move stuff around. Shorts, tshirts and such shall get moved to upper drawers while sweatshirts, sweatpants and the like shall get moved to bottom drawers. One must prepare for Summer after all! As I mentioned yestiddy, catfish filets from the good seafood/fish place for tonight’s sup. YUM!

BooFae glad you enjoyed the virtual concert. Great that your friend is doin’ that.

Hippie yay for slight improvement toward normality. Let’s hope we get more movement towards normality soonest!

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, as usual, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Firday Y’all!

My “fun” features a bathroom ceiling repair today. This will require DH and me to either hole up in the bedroom, at the other end of the apartment from the problem area, or be elsewhere while maintenance is doing his thing, since I’m technically still quarantined. If DH is awake early enough, I may lobby him to go for a drive (me staying in the car away from others) while repairs are underway, just to get out for a while.

Today is the final day of quarantine! Tomorrow, I have freedom again. Very odd how much I’m looking forward to a grocery stop.

Woke too early today, and since **FCD **was antsy to get to work, I got up, too. I’m showered, dressed, fed, and caffeinating, and it’s just 6:30! We’re promised a nice day, and I think I’ll finish the swingset today, whether SIL gets out there or not. We’ve got a nice weekend ahead, and Roxy needs to burn off some energy.

I’d also like to do a little grocerying - I’ve had a hankerin’ for ribs, and I’d like to lay in some more meat products in the freezer. Once daughter is up, I’ll see what the day’s plans are. Between her job and her 2 classes, she’s just a tad stressed - especially from her Calculus class. I’d help her, but it’s over 40 years since I took Calc, so I’m next to worthless as a tutor.

Onward into Firday!!

Happy Firday!

It’s a clear and brisk 43 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 59.

I woke up too early but decided to just get up and get to irk.

Nothing special planned for today, athough I probably should run to the store for some bottled water.
Not that I want to, but probably better to go today than over the weekend.

No playdate again today, but Echo seems to have accepted the change in routine.
She’s not running around crying today.

Afternoon all.

Another borin’ day over here. The blue skies have vanished behind a layer of cloud today. Have I mentioned that, after the wettest winter I remember, with barely a dry day, the rain finally stopped and the sun appeared the day lockdown was feckin’ announced? This last few weeks have been the nicest weather we’ve had since about August…

I might go out for a Permitted Walk later anyway; hopefully with the grey clouds my usual spot will be a bit quieter, it’s been heaving with people lately, too busy for me to want to go there, but my flat’s not all that big, and my legs are starting to object to the lack of exercise. Plus, what with the easy availability of snacks and the baking experiments, I do want to be able to still squeeze out the door when we are properly allowed back out again.

I made a quick dash to Food Lion and finally scored a chuck roast, plus some ground beef that will become a meatloaf before the day is over. There were 2 or 3 packs of TP, but still no paper towels. I’m glad I only needed a few items - I was able to use the express lane, while the other lanes had long lines - I guess everyone thought 7AM was a good time to shop.

I’ve got a chicken thawing - I’d like to rotiss it tonight, but I may have to wait till tomorrow. We shall see. I’m thinking the chuck roast will be a pot roast on Sunday or Moanday. But I’d still like to get some ribs.

This meal-planning stuff is exhausting!

Morning all. 45F going to the 70’s today and no rain forecast, so another perfect day shot to heck…

Need to pickup a couple of dining room chairs at noontime, and have taken it into my head that I need a rocking chair, so I might drive by the Cracker Barrel and take a look. At least I don’t have to assemble it as I would from other places.

Nut, hope you get to enjoy your walk.

Nettie, glad quarantine is almost over. So you can join the rest of us stayin’ at home…

hippie, finding something normal is a good thing in these times of not-normal. Have fun pumping!

Boofae, y’all going to keep him a secret singer from all of us?

Butters, a car ride is not a bad idea; I’ve done it before and even visiting places you know well can be nice if you’ve been cooped it.

The rest of all y’all, have a good Firday.

Actually, I return to Hades Annex Moanday. We’re a call center contracted to a major bank, thus deemed “essential”.

Figures that rain is due to arrive about the time my quarantine expires. May take a minor supply run this evening (it’ll have been over 336 hours since I was instructed to quarantine, thus 14 days).

swampie, I wish it was going to be as warm here today. Right now it’s very cool and cloudy, and thunder is rumbling.

Seanette, good luck on the bathroom. That does not sound like fun.

FCM, mmmm, meatloaf.

Afternoon all. Picked up the two dining room chairs, the breakfast nook looked bare without them and now it looks overcrowded…what ya going to do. Priced rocking chairs at Cracker Barrel and may pick one up tomorrow along with a to-go lunch (either hamburger steak or meatloaf).

In now and probably will stay inside for the rest of the day (save to check mail).

Nettie, hope the bathroom gets fixed before the rain.

Today would have been the last home game of the (regular)season. But since I can watch our Finns score goals, I’ll take up another Finnish tradition.

Are you heaving people again?

Call me the Pied Piper of the Food Bank… I’m going there tomorrow to sort whatever needs sorting, and I’ll have PWAISDN and a mutual friend in tow. Both of them were sorta like “Hey, we want something to do also!”

Hopefully they’re not discouraged by dusty potatoes, squished oranges, etc. and want to go back.
