Can’t wait to see the pics rosie, I’m sure no one but you caught the solo thing too.
I ain’t got no culture today. It’s Friday, all I have today is fatigue and boredom.
At least I don’t have to get up early tomorrow and knock on doors, now that election time is over. Yay.
Not much else happening this weekend in this corner of the world. Finally a relaxing weekend, which I need. I’ll get some curtains hung up around the place, waste some time reading and sitting about.
Today is “start no new initiatives” day, which is what Fridays are for me most of the time.
Still waiting. Being on time is not one of QD’s many virtues. I am afraid to phone her house and find out if she’s left yet. She lives forty minutes away, by car, and it’s profoundly depressing to call her twenty minutes after her putative arrival time and find she is planning to leave “in just ten minutes! Don’t worry!”
Sorry. It’s just that she wants to bake brioche and have it done before seven, and we are starting to run out of time. It takes a good six hours, at least.
We had window people come out to the house last night for a quote for windows. We didn’t even bother getting another estimate, because their price was roughly what we expected and they even brought it down a bit, and there is only one window we want and no one else around here installs them (Andersen replacement windows). So, for those of you keeping score, he is what getting done to the Factfortress between now and Christmas:
new roof
new siding (100% PVC cedar shake (front) and clapboards (sides and back)
replacing 11 windows (10 double hung and 1 casement)
Ali, my daughter, The Princess[sup]TM[/sup] is majoring in criminal justice with an emphasis on Eastern studies. She works part time for a criminal defense attorney with lots of connections and hopes to intern for Homeland Security. She gragitates this spring.
sean is absolutely right about what to have with the pierogies. How do you cook them, li-li? I love them best fried in peanut oil with a dollup of sour cream but ooooooooooohhhhhh the calories.
bumba, c’mon! Tell the joke!
Hellos to scout and ashes, and oh, and that guy rue
Made a nummie faux stir fry last night that used zesty Italian dressing, soy sauce and minced garlic to toss with chicken boobies and variously colored peppers and onions.
Today we have the folks from Hondurus on hand to see if they want us to do their PR.
Oh…did I mention I’m having a birthday today? It’s true, only I didn’t really think about it this morning. Cuz I was in a rush to go out and garden. Got home and found a message from Mom, who has been thinking about me since early morning.
Back from church gardening and lunch and am considering heading for the library to pick up whatever they have on hold for me. Then I’ll continue the gardening theme in my own garden. I’m pretty sure that’s not a new initiative.
An eventful morning. I saw my doctor this am, she’s pulling out the big guns now - Remeron. We’re running out of options. I hope this works.
My eggnog latte wasn’t. ::pouts:: It’s a latte with some nutmeg sprinkled on top. That’s hardly worth $3.69.
I have an exciting project to work on today: tying bows around scarves. The scarves are individually wrapped in little plastic bags that have to be removed, then the scarf (with our logo) scrunched up, then tie a ribbon (with our logo) around the scarf, then add a little card (with our logo and a little inspirational message), then tie a bow. This is for a big meeting next week. I’m having a hard time picturing people actually wearing these monstrosities. They look like polyester napkins, not scarves.
Da boss treated the management team to lunch today. We went to the good Japanese place. I didn’t get sushi though. I wasn’t in a sushi mood. Instead I got some good hibachi chicken and some miso soup. Ok, I did eat a couple pieces of sushi because the orderers of said sushi could not finish it all (they ain’t stingy with the sushi there) and well, it’s just shameful to waste sushi after all. So a couple others of us helped out. We’re all nice that way.
Accreditation review starts Monday and lasts until mid-afternoon Wednesday. I’m ready. I think. Maybe. We’ll see. I mean they’re showin’ up whether or not, so guess I better be ready. Tomorrow I am coming in to clean up my office and neaten up a few last minute things. I should hang on tonight and do some of it but I’m tahred. So, I’ll get up and come in in the morning for a while. I have a pile of stuff to leave at their hotel on Sunday. It’s stuff they asked for, not just random stuff I’m collecting, though it would be fun to leave a big box of random stuff with a note that says, “Here’s you some stuff. Enjoy!” I won’t though cause I need to be, you know, serious and stuff cause this is supposed to be all serious and professional like.
I can be all serious and professional like when I just have to be that way. Really. I can. I promise. Ok, fine don’t believe me. You’re not the boss of me! So There!

Happy Birthday gt!!! ……………
Boo Friday! It’s my weekend to work, so Friday is a day of sadness. The truck was late today, and school is out, so we were overrun with rugrats. Yeah Beer!
FCM, I’m a bachelor, so I’m sure there’s some sort of culture growing in a corner. As long as the Marina guy doesn’t leave a message for “the U-boat commander”, you shouldn’t worry about the boat.
Spats, I thought of a neat physics pun, but then I forgot it.
