I have been having cake ( small piece, no frosting) for breakfast every morn for a long time. Also a snack at night.
It helps me drink more water.
I have been keeping it in the fridge, it lasts about 6 days.
My recent one, I am leaving out.
Good idea, or both okay?
I suspect it depends on the cake, but that the biggest issue is to keep it covered so that it doesn’t dry out too fast.
If memory serves, I/my family have always left cake out at room temperature, but I don’t know that it has ever remained uneaten for as long as 6 days.
What kind of cake?
That is,
Store bought (with chemicals that inhibit mold growth)
or
Home made (with nothing to stop it from being an excellent replacement for agar microbial growth media).
Betty Crocker.
What kind of cake?
That is, not what brand (which has been answered), but does it include layers of something that might need refrigerating?
Just chocolate.

Thank you!
Sounds like you have a cake and you’re going to eat it too. Don’t believe the myth that you can’t do that.
It’s pretty hot out.
I might fridge it.
I’ve done both, well covered.
Frozen cake. Hmm? I’m getting ideas…
(Can I be you? Cake for breakfast and then again at night. Sounds nice to me.)
Moved from IMHO to CS (Cake Society).
I wish you could.
I’m gonna fridge it.
Its only a serving. Their idea of serving and mine are different.
Gotta be chocolate though.
I make cakes. We keep ours in an airtight cake tin and they neither go stale nor mouldy.
I’ve always heard that refrigerating a cake messes with its chemical composition which affects taste, texture, etc. Chemists, clue me in.
Frozen chocolate cake cut up a bit, placed in a mug with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream, then topped with Guinness. A beer float. Delicious.
I think room temperature cake tastes much better. My wife, on the other hand, is one of those maniacs who refrigerates Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I prefer my confections as they’re found in the wild, as God intended.
Also, if a cake makes it past six hours in our house, it’s lived a good, long life.
I see what you did there.
I didn’t! Just looked cause you mentioned it.
There’s a song about it …
Cake in the fridge, ain’t no surprise
Just pour me a drink, and I’ll tell you some lies.
Do you have one of their brochures? I was thinking of retiring there.
