First of all, Bush is unpopular even with the people who elected him (guilty), and is HIGHLY unlikely to win reelection. Second, Arnie is WAY more liberal than your typical Republican. Dude, his wife is a freaking KENNEDY, how conservative can he possibly be?
Third, look at his team. He’s basically the front man for a team of people with far more experience than he. Richard Riordan wouldn’t even RUN against Arnie, which IMHO is one of the biggest votes of confidence for me. Whatever you may think of Wilson, he RAN this state effectively, and nobody recalled him.
Then there’s Warren Buffett (sigh). Not sure what’s happening there, or if he’s still part of the team. I have a lot of respect for the man, but he wanted to raise taxes, and honestly Californians are being taxed up the wazoo already. Hopefully he’ll stay on board and help Arnie find ways to attract businesses back to the state.
Still, he is or at least was on Arnie’s team, another respectable vote of confidence from someone in a position to provide serious advice to Arnie.
