CALIFORNIA the DUMBEST state in the Union

Please tell me you’re joking. Exactly how was energy deregulation effective? Unless by “effective”, you mean “biggest disaster in the history of California”.

Damn blowero you sound like spooje now. You just ain’t gettin’ it are ya.

You gotta believe what we say not what you see.

That’s modern politics…it’s an illusion

it’s been fun y’all g~nite & good luck California ya have my sympathy…

Yes, because if they don’t vote for your candidate, they’re stupid. Nice.

Implying the people who voted for The Govinator are overwhelmingly intelligent, based on his serious political background, education, experience and know-how?

Did I say that? Don’t put words in my mouth. I simply mean that calling someone stupid because they voted for him is, well, stupid.

But we did have a guy with a serious political background, education and experience. His name was Gray Davis. (The man has been in politics his entire adult life) And he screwed the pooch, big time!.

Yeah, I’m a democrat and voted for Arnold. Why? Because Davis did SUCH a bad job, and there needs to be consequences for it, and Bustamante is mental. And because Richard Riordan didn’t run.

I hope the California Democratic Party heeds this as a wake up call…

BTW, ** A Monkey With a Gun**, thanks for the translation. I understand it now.

I’m disappointed, but not surprised. I hoped that if people hadn’t noticed that Arnod never once specified how he was going to fix California, or wondered exactly where someone so independent of special interests got all that campaign money they would at least be a little shocked that at least FIFTEEN women said he had groped them or otherwise harrassed them. Once again I overestimated the intelligence of the average Californian.

I thought you LIKED tight assholes. [Seinfeld]Not that there’s anything wrong with that.[/Seinfeld]

The credulous Californians also bought C. Everett Coop’s lie that failure to collect information on racial and ethnic backgrounds would somehow cause more people to die of cancer and diabetes. How he made that connection I can’t imagine. Oh, wait, somebody PAID him to.

This has been a disappointing day.

Sorry if I thought you were implying something you didn’t, it wasn’t my intention, it’s probably just my innate cynicism talking.

I just thought the OP had at least a slight right to feel outraged that they elected a Governor with zero appreciable experience involving anything to do with politics to solve what is by far California’s worst fiscal crisis ever and it seemed like you were mocking that. If I misunderstood what you we’re saying, again, that wasn’t my intention.

Hey, no problem.

Ok…time to again give serious thought to splitting the state into NorCal and SoCal…I can hear the sobs of rural despair from my homeland, all the way here in Georgia. I’d much rather see NorCal’s legislative fate in the hands of the Bay Area, than see it so tainted by hordes of fruit loops at the bottom of the state…who have little to no clue regarding the vast majority of the lands (yet minority of the folks) that they hold sway over.

Doom…DOOM!! :frowning:

Uh, the state capital, and Arnolds new home, is in northern California.

You get a gold star for Califorinia Geography…but the current location of the Capital is moot in regards to my argument. The voting power lies in the lower regions of the state, disproportionately. Northern California is simply a different beast than Southern California, on many different levels, yet the voters in Southern California can (and do) easily swing the vote their direction. Having two seperate states (with their own individual Capitals) would better serve the needs of Northern California, imho. There would still be a an issue with the populated centers of the new Northern California state holding a disproportionate control of any vote, but your average Bay Area resident is more “in touch” with Northern California, in general, than your average resident of Los Angeles.

So when can we expect Anschluss with Oregon?

I loved Molly Ivins’s remark that Schwarzenegger (or “Actor,” as he is known to the headline writers at the San Francisco Chronicle) “looks like a condom stuffed with walnuts.”

I’ve always preferred Beavers to Trojans…

Ok…that was a groaner…and we dykes do put our fair share of condoms to good use.

Those of you who voted for Arnold, why?

Was it a least of two evils type of thing?

More or less, yeah.
