Call of Duty 2 comes out tomorrow for the PC

So COD2 is out for the PC tomorrow. Anyone gonna get it? Graphics look beautiful, but I’m not sure if I can really handle another WWII FPS. I mean, the Thompson and the Garand are good guns and all, but a little…old.

Anyway. Interestingly, it seems that early hands-on reports that the Xbox 360 version actually has better graphics than the PC version (higher draw distance, better framerate, crisper details, etc.), though it’s slight enough that you’d only be able to tell if you had the two right next to each other for comparison. Of course, they also report that as usual the mouse/keyboard totally trumps the analog stick.

Besides, if you want the Xbox 360 version, it’ll cost ya about like $500 and you’ll have to wait till November.

So is anyone looking forward to this game? If so why? Anything else you’ve got your eye on?

I wasn’t hip to the first one since I found the multiplayer a little lacking. It didn’t offer a tighter game than the other big WW2 online game Day of Defeat, which had the added advantage of being free. If this one can surpass the current WW2 leader, I’ll pick it up.

Try Silent Storm if you’re interested in WWII arcade-style squad combat. An expansion pack (included in the Gold Edition) was released last September and a sequel set along the Eastern Front is due out soon.

I’ll end up getting it someday, but I need to upgrade my computer first. My current one is somewhat old.

Though Bad reviews will likely cool my desire for it.

My wish list for COD2:

-Fix the Sten. It fires 9mm but can’t use German ammo? That makes no sense. The Sten was DESIGNED to use German ammo.

-Cut down on the “One man Army” missions AKA most of the british ones. If no-one fights alone in War, what do the brits think they are doing?

-In the tank driving missions, put some friendly infantry in there as well. You know, the way tanks are supposed to operate.

Yeah, Silent Storm was fun. Instantly reminded me of the pleasure that was X-Com.
