Call the Midwife; series 4 on PBS (open spoilers)

Has anyone else been watching this? I’m enjoying the season so far; tonight’s in particular. I loved the different reactions from the nuns & midwives to Mr Amos homosexuality (especially Shelagh’s utter bewilderment and Sister Julienne’s attempt to change the subject). Not much a happy ending either; sure the Mr Amos suicide was stopped & he has a new daughter, but Amoses aren’t going to be a happy family. He’s still being chemically castrated, and there’s a good chance he’ll off himself later. I had the same feeling about the “happy ending” the children from episode 4.01 got; a new life in Australia, as unaccompanied Child Migrants where they will likely to be broken up upon arrival, and possibly to suffer even worse abuse (including molestation) than they did in the UK. :frowning: Also Trixie’s getting increasing creepy; I think she’s going to snap soon.

I watch it as one of my favorite programs. This season has not been as good as the previous ones, IMO, but I can’t say why it strikes me that way.

So we finally run into one of the few situations were a woman is legally allowed at the time, and it’s forced on a woman who’s given no say in the matter. :frowning: Nobody really stood up for her either (well beyond the patronizing “this is all for your own good” crap). That was unsettling.
