It’s been my experience those who are successful at fart traps passed their apprenticeship by being successful at snipe hunting. Not so sure about zombie farts.

madrabbitwoman, somebody has to say it, but the combo of obscurity, improbability, and username here has got to be unrivaled in SD, when the username is not created specifically for a guest’s first post. (Although OP does have a good combo too, it must be said.)

Nitrogen is very slightly buoyant in air which is mostly nitrogen and the slightly heavier oxygen. Hydrogen and methane have about 1/14 and 3/7 the density of nitrogen, so a fart should float in air. Whether or not it has enough buoyancy to lift a balloon, I leave as an exercise, but I doubt it.
