Can Anyone Identify This Jazz Theme?

This is a saxophone theme I’ve heard many years ago. It was on a recording of a live concert of a sax, piano, bass and drums quartet, and it sounded very much like John Coltrane (to my ears anyway). If it’s not Coltrane, it’s someone from the same period who was obviously strongly influenced by him.

I searched on Rdio high and low, including related artists, but I cannot find it for the life of me.

I created a MIDI file of the theme from memory, which I then converted into a 16-second mp3 sample. I am sure I got the melody right (I cannot forget it.) You can find it here:
