Can anyone recommend a good, cheap wireless router?

I’m a simple guy and I don’t need anything super fancy. However, my 7 year old Zyxel router is starting to go on me and I am in the market for a new one. I’m in no super rush; It still functions fairly well as a wired router and I’m mainly just losing a lot of speed in the wireless setup.

Honestly, it’s been quite the little trooper these past years and I’m not surprised we need a new one.

Anyway, I’m looking for a router for(if possible) $50 or less would be ideal. I only need it to provide basic wireless internet and have about 4 wired ports in the back(for a few other devices I hook up with wires).

Anyone have a recommendation?

I have a Linksys. It does fine for me

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by TrendNet products.
They are dirt cheap and work as well, or better than the other brands I’ve tried.
And I’ve tried all the top name brands.

I’ve had a DLink Dir-615 for over 4 years now. It’s worked flawlessly with good range across two floors. It’s only a 300 Mb, not a Gigabit router, if that matters to you.

I haven’t had any experience with them, but I notice that Monoprice has a couple of very inexpensive routers on their web site. I can vouch for Monoprice’s cable products, they’ve always been top-notch.
