Can anyone tell me what this object, a key chain of sorts, is called?

I bought one on the streets of Tanggu, China over 10 years ago and about 4-5 years ago, I lost it when I lost my keys.

It’s basically a keychain, but no searaching the internet for keychain shows an image of it. It was all metal, one piece, but had several “holes” I could attach key rings to. I’d call it a key ring organizer of sorts. Mine was a BMW one, but probably just a counterfeit.

I think it had four holes and I attached four key rings to it and it allowed me to have one ring for work, one for my cars, etc.

Kind of like this, but it was all one piece of metal with just holes cut in it. Only kind of like this, mind you.

I loved it and want to find one again.

I know what you are talking about but I’ll be damned if I know what to call it. Something akin to the first one on this page perhaps.

I don’t think you are (exactly), but it sounds like you’re describing something similar to a multiple lock-out tag/device.

I use this, which describes itself as a “pull apart keyring” (presumably because this one pulls apart so you can hand the mechanic/valet your car keys without also handing over your house keys).

If yours doesn’t pull apart, then you probably can’t use that term, though.

What was the overall shape – exactly how is it different from what you linked to?

Was it circular like this? http://thumbs3.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mUFxjWBhVf_XI_GffPvvJXw.jpg

I found a few options that might work and I was about to suggest you just drill a few holes around the edge of a quarter, but then I found this.

Something like this?

I found it!!! Sort of.

It’s this item

I see no where to buy this item on that web page. Anyone know where I can buy one like the one I just linked to?

Start with this keyword search and this GIS. I’ve found quite a few hits, some, like your’s don’t have buy buttons (or you need to call or set up an account), others I’d investigate further and decide if the website is worth giving your CC to (or maybe getting a prepaid card).

I am now embarrassed to admit that I never considered it “Steering Wheel” shaped. Yikes, that is obvious.

eBay, $15:

I Googled “Mercedes Benz Steering Wheel Keychain”.

You might find it for sale somewhere else using that phrase.

EDIT: Ninja’d!

For those curious, you can get one that says “Jeep” on Amazon. I just might do it since I don’t care about the branding.

Heh, the item description says it has a “unique steering wheel design”. I think they don’t know what the word “unique” means.

Sure it does. Says right there they can supply 100,000 Pcs/Month, minimum order 1000 pcs.

If you’re not exactly hung up on the steering wheel shape, Home Depot sells a line of similar products from a brand called “Nite ize” http://www.homedepot.com/p/Nite-Ize-Key-Holder-with-Locking-Carabiners-KLK-11-R3/204778400

There are more styles than just that one. But the basic idea is a bunch of little S-carabiners and a central hub. You can attach a bunch of carabiners to the hub, or just 1 or 2. Each carbiner can hold 2-3 flat keys or one fob key, or one or more mini keyrings.

Works slick.

I hate carrying more keys than absolutely necessary. So often I just have a car fobkey by itself. Other times I clip that key to an s-carabiner that’s got a few other keys. Mix and match as you need.

The nice part is you can see the selection at the store, rather than trusting Alibaba or whoever to send you 100 gross of them for 47 yuan. Good bet that if you’re a USAian there’s a HD nearby.

Can someone else try searching Amazon for “steering wheel shaped key chain” and see if the results you get seem odd enough (given the search string) that you’d ask the same question I’m asking? Just to rule out Amazon suggesting things to me, I tried it on my phone, I even used incognito mode on a different browser that I’ve never used Amazon on (and not logged on) and I’m still getting pegged with those same results.

Anyone else? Nope, just me. Strange.

Yes, about halfway down. Blue lucid dream crystal waterproof silicone rabbit twister… massager.

The thing I like is not that it is steering wheel shaped, but that the holes for you to attach your keyrings to are very far apart, so the rings really stay separate. I’m thinking of asking for one for Valentines Day.

This? eBay $5.69
